word word word word word word word word word word word word word word word - DerekTheKingRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0What can I say about the story that wouldn't give too much away? I loved reading every chapter, and I must say the pacing is fantastic. The story doesn't stall, the interludes are very meaningful and provide a nice background to the narrative and world, and the story moves at a very solid pace. At the beginning of Ray's arrival into the soul place with all of the emissarys and fisher's guild, we are greeted to a very vast place that the reader or Ray can't understand at the moment, and just as fast as we are presented to this world, he is thrust into Haven. He's a little slime dude and through his journey through meeting people, finding the truths of the world, every few chapters expands the world into a small cavern into a limitless world, then universe, and void. If you have any interest at all reading this review, I highly encourage you to read this story, if only for one or two chapters to see if you like it, and I would be very surprised if you don't continue reading.
tl;dr : It's a fire story and very much worth reading if you enjoy good things - ShadowKnight6992Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Absolutely stunning world building and the side characters are really wonderful, you describe them just enough where there personality fits really well.
the start of the novel was extremely unique and really cool, especially for it not to be a immediately meet god or ending up in a new world straight off the bat, type intro
the Mc is really well written and seems believable, also the end to book one was absolutely perfect for him even though it felt weird. He didn't have power at all mostly then suddenly gets a MASSIVE strength boost. But the description of his forms I can agree with you that it would be really hard to describe what essentially is a SCP cognito hazerd, but really props to you for being able to describe him and his ever increasing forms. - citadel12Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fascinatingly unique! Fascinatingly unique! Conceptually, the book reminds me of an odyssey more in line with Ancient Greek mythology than modern science fiction, though the language and technologically astute pictures speak to the latter. The author does an excellent job of bringing out the emotion of the characters making the story relatable to the reader all while dealing with rather deep and dark issues. It is refreshing to read something that doesn't seem to be a retread of modern narratives so common in the fiction market of today.nt job of bringing out the emotion of the characters making the story relatable to the reader all while dealing with rather deep and dark issues. - elec0Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Thanks to Lillene for the recommendation about this story from Serenity, and for the review that helped me decide to read it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story. The characters are well written and feel believeable, and while it's certainly not overly focused on the other characters nearly as much, it felt like each one was unique enough and spoke with a different enough voice that nothing felt same-y.
It felt like enough time was spent on the magic system to flesh out what it could and could not do, but not too much time that it dragged on, and there's still room for more learning (both mc and readers) in future books.
If you're thinking of reading this story, I recommend it. It's short enough to read pretty quickly, and the first book is complete with a satisfying ending. - DefectivebyDesignRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story is well written, paced reasonable, constantly moves forward, plot makes sense, characters act realistically. Maybe some people can nitpick minor details, but I didn't notice anything wrong, and enjoy reading it. The world building is natural as well.
As a side note, I think the quality is related to how the author works for a living, and the focus is on writing a good novel instead of milking Patreon members. No "slow burn", constant cliffhangers over mundane nonsense, horribly long pointless pretentious prologues, annoying little italics top quotes every chapter from some random character, blatant word count padding, over describing every little detail instead of moving the story forward, etc. None of that. All because the point is just to write a story, and not Patreon grift, because the writer has a job.
We also don't have that whole overly predictable "subvert your expectations" trope degenerate nonsense that's way too prevalent. Like killing off the friends and family while the author unrealistically puppet masters the main character to do nothing or be the cause.
I personally think the problem with writing is the education system, bad motivation, and plagerism. The no job Patreon writers seem to all be writing from the same exact scripted template, with a checklist of tactics specifically designed to maximize subscribers over story quality. It's like being a telemarketer who sells gambling loot boxes, except it's with writing a story. What makes it even more offensive, is those guys sometimes don't even have the work ethic to have a reasonable update schedule, unlike the Asian web novel writers who update every day of the week with 1K+ chapters and don't use the scam tactics.
So anyways, props for the story. Everyone should give it maximum ratings for the no nonsense quality. - KhorstRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have loved this story all the way. It is incredibly exquisite. I wish for u the best dear author for it has been a rollercoaster of emotions and I have loved every second of it. Thank you for gracing the world with such an interesting story.
I await the next adventures of Kosimar. Nascent cosmic horror and eldritch sovereign. Long live Kosimar :D - Kimbrough7Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Read it. I binged it in one sitting. It's great. Great progression story. Great world building and great magic system. I wish the MC was a bit more anti-heroish but that's a personal opinion. He's a great MC but he's young, like 16-18 so some decisions arent as ruthless as I'd like.
Give this one a chance. Best story I've read on here In a while. - LilleneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an enjoyable story. The characters make sense (even the angel with Issues). The main character gets dumped in the deep end and then does the best he can to get out of it, even with other people trying to dig the hole deeper.
The villains (there are several) all make sense, given their situations. The main villain is someone trying to do the right thing ... which is always a great motivation for a villain.
Many of the 'coincidences' deserve the quotes I just used - which makes sense.
Overall, enjoyable.
Even more importantly, it's complete. All of Book One is here.
I'm looking forward to Book Two. - PunpopeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Raymond's unexpected reincarnation as a lowly monster sets the stage for an epic adventure through a nightmarish underground labyrinth.
