Description
Xane Quin to end a year-long mourning of his friend Sierra's disappearance. He takes his boat he designed himself, Sierra's Song, and takes the same path that she was supposed to go on a year before on the cruise Xane had set up for her and her family. What was suppose to be an average trip that, he hadn't told anyone he was going on, Xane runs into a massive whirlpool in the ocean with his best friend and teacher Von Sway. Xane wakes up on an island all alone and needs to find his way in this new world. Perhaps the mysterious dreams he had before first waking up will lead him on this path. Perhaps the colt revolver and a box of ammo that his father forced him to take with him might save him.

- LOLsuitRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The spelling is the worst I've read on RR. It will often be a valid word, just the wrong one, as if a voice to text program picked among similar words. This interferes with the flow as maybe you have to stop to figure out what the right word should have been. Present & past tense are intermixed. The grammar, or how sentences are constructed, is also a bit off or awkward.
And the hero gets into a few ridiculous situations that seem to give him OP powers in the beginning (ring of holding, a very special, undamaged, and easily boarded ship from a shipwreck, X-ray eyes, etc). And then the hero will defeat a too high leveled monster, and get lots of experience, over and over.
But, despite all of that, it was still an interesting enough story. The chapters set aside for character sheets are nice, but they get incorporated in-chapter in the 2nd half of the book. LitRPG and watching the numbers go up is fun. Though a bit more reasoning, more often, on where to spend his stat points would not go amiss. Eventually the plot settles on a classic quest.
His class choices fit, but some of it seemed surprising given the early chapters.
