For as long as she could remember,Ezabel Groverand her brothers had lived off the beaten track. The sleepy village of Alm was always their home; they knew little of their family and even less of the vast world around them. Still, she was happy. To be together was all she ever asked for. That is, until their budding spirits stumbled upon tall tales of theAttendant Knightsand their legendary triumphs. With every book, their aspirations grew beyond the pastures of their home. A desire for their own legend had seeded itself deep within their hearts. In the blink of an eye, her brothers had gone off to chase it without her. But, she was not to be outdone.

With dawn soon to break upon the selection trials, Ezabel's opportunity had come. However, she never knew that her ambition to become an Attendant Knight would unravel the beginnings of an unbidden toll. Through every person and on every road in the realm of Ardyn, she learns a forlorn truth: a family is as fragile as it is strong.

A tale that has been in the oven for many years. Until now, it has been an experience I made solely for the enjoyment of my loved ones; a deep adventure centered around an ensemble cast of characters, all of which have become dear to my heart. Over many long nights, I've shared the story of the Attendant Knights and crafted their world in front of friendly ears. Lo and behold, it became an extensive journey in a boundless land. It still keeps me awake to this day. So, it is with absolute pleasure that I finally put this thing to the keyboard.
