- Cedric The Rabbit SlayerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Assymetric Warfare is set in a medieval world with knights and tales of long lost magic. The sorcerers of the past were destroyed with only tales of their feats left behind. But, on the MC’s first patrol to inspect a murder, he finds traces of magic. So, are the forbidden arts returning? Have they ever left?
Style: It’s reminiscent of “The Young Elites” by Marie Lu with a bit of “Harry Potter” in one particular chapter. It’s an exploration of an alternative world while trying to solve a certain mystery.
Story: Basically, it’s a medieval fantasy setting, but one with more traditional magic/knights, not the kind that can split mountains and summon tornadoes. So far, it’s about uncovering whether or not magic is still around.
Grammar: Excellent. I haven’t found any problems worth noting.
Character: At the moment, the big characters need a bit more fleshing out. We’ve seen some of their flaws/weaknesses, but not much. And, their motivations/goals aren’t developed yet. However, it’s just the beginning of the novel, and there’s plenty of time for that.
Overall, the novel is a breath of fresh air. It’s still in its early stages, but it has the elements that can make it a hit.
