They learn that they play this game for the opportunity to return to life, a life that for reasons they can't remember abruptly ended on that unusual date— December 21st, 2012. Yet along the way, they meet faces who recognize them and stubbornly refuse to say how as well as daily challenges that threaten their emotional solvency.
