- FlokistarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed reading the story because every chapter made me want to know what happened to the MC.I
didn't read all the chapters, so I'll only review what I read so far.
Story: without spoilers, the story follow Ewan who had everything a kid could ask for before everything went downhill after his father died. The people around him tried everything to get inheritance which caused the MC to have some trust issues but because he was a bit poor, he had to push away the doubt and risk falling into their trap once in awhile.
Style: the story is written in the third person pov, and description are quite vivid as the author managed to use the right words to describe the state and feelings of characters just by their actions.
Grammar: for non English speaker, the author did a good job. Even though there was occasionally some mistakes, they weren't bad enough to break immersion. The author would also fix mistakes once pointed.
Characters: the author must have spent great portion of his time fleshing out the characters, and he did a good job. The characters felt real, with each of them having their own personality and motives. - ItsMeArturRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Asheva: Dreamseekers is a fresh and immersive take on LitRPG, centering on Ewan, a character marked by tragedy but fueled by the hope of eternity. In this world of boundless potential, Ewan's journey as a Monster Summoner/Tamer and pure Spellcaster unfolds with depth and realism.
The novel explores Ewan's growth and evolution, with detailed status panels adding layers to the story. Pet beasts play a significant role, enriching the narrative with their presence.
Amidst Ewan's solitude, his beasts and spells pave the way forward, while moments with his loved ones reignite his passion for adventure. The story promises a single true pairing romance (OTP), steering clear of harem distractions.
"With a release rate starting at one chapter a day for momentum, then shifting to one every two days for sustainability," "Asheva: Dreamseekers" invites readers into a nuanced and engaging world. It's a slow-paced journey filled with character development and the captivating bonds between Ewan and his monsters. - Jotap3636Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great work bro. I really like beast tamer novels, and yours is very promising, so far it’s great! The character and his development is amazing, your style of focusing on him is also a breath fresh air.About the world development, it’s progressing in fluid way, I really am enjoying.Your use of new words to describe this universe you created it’s very cool, and risky too, of course. My only doubt right now is how his motivation works, but I am at the beginning so maybe later you will go more in depth in this, specifically, he just wants to be immortal to live forever, it’s reason enough for us, but to him, in that situation, I don’t know, but how I said before, I am only at the beginning.I really like his family and nana personality, and his mom, her history seems really interesting despite me only seeing bits and pieces here and there.I am became curious of something while writing, will all his pets be from eggs?.I know it’s crazy for me to say this but, believe in yourself man, I know you fell this story is great, and it is, so go big, don’t make it a short story, in other words, make it as long as possible, without losing quality of course, that’s the true work of every writer, use all of their creativity and brain power to create a masterpiece, which is great to the beginning to the end.
- KingMohRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I knew I'd like this book the second I read the first chapter. The book hits a spot for me - a talented mc with a mysterious past and a personality that isn't too cold but not too warm. The author develops him as the book goes on, and we see him become different with every chapter.
Many say the book is 'cliched' but I'd say that's what makes the book even better. The author recognizes that and employs all our favorite tropes with masterful writing to get us entranced with the book even more. - KaminRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Solid story. There are some holes/patches in the personalities of the female lead and the protagonist in that (as someone who IRL approaches the way they make decisions) they make very odd choices and decisions that don't line up with the personality presented.
Despite trying to be portrayed incredibly cold and calculating for himself, the idea of double-crossing the female lead never crossed his mind.
Treating her incredibly well despite the lack of benefits she brings, both in the fact that she doesn't make him feel the most positive feelings and having made multiple decisions that negatively impacted both her and the protagonist
Despite being "calculating", not doing a great job of trying to understand his environment. ie. trying to discover multiple factors, the people around, the "vibe," the wealth, weather, the actual terrain and layout of his physical surroundings. How can one be calculative when they do not try to factor in all of the possibilities by limiting themselves in a certain area and not being prepared for those possible situations? Or maybe I missed something, who knows.
The worldbuilding feels fine, and the instant showing of the power dynamic and a somewhat more realistic world-building is great too.
My biggest gripe right now is how slow the current chapters are. We are stuck in a training phase and man it's incredibly boring. - LitGuyEnthusiastRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I have just started this series but overall the plot is looking really good. We have a likeable but not goody two shoes MC and the power levels are clear and fun. Overall good writing. My only note is that chapters feel short. I really like that he keeps the status screen in authors note because it lets you check up on progress unlike other novels where the status can be hidden for like 20 chapters
- inunacRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I binged the story in two weeks to this point without reading any other stories.
Overall it was quite interesting even if it had its slow parts.
But I found it often times really confusing that things are mentioned as if everyone knows what they are. Sure I know there is the Glossar but I don't want to navigate to chapter zero and back just to look up a word that may or may not be important to completely understand.
Like theses special abilities especially the ice one I had known idea what happened. Only because he used it again did I understood like 50 chapters later that he can activate it. I just thought he drank a random potion for his elemental adaptation that temporarily boosted his control over ice.
Then there is our MC: I feel like his struggle is not properly conveyed. First we get to know how difficult brewing is and how expensive the ingredients are. But because we can not compare it to anything in our world I struggle to feel the importance of it all, since a few sentences later he always just gets it right without it feeling as if he struggled with it or was even close to failure.
I think if we had any idea how much one nova is it would help. How long can you rent a normal room for it how much food can you get for one etc.... Maybe let kidd ramble about what he could buy if he would get one.
And now we are supposed to feel it is important to get the mystic rune. Even though he can already use spells of this kind with anima from the air around them or something. Again I don't feel where the struggle is or why this rune would be so important.
The next thing I don't feel like it's properly explained is the reason why he can't use frost because he's a demon. It's apparently an uncommon thing but must have happened before and I believe it was mentioned that he is properly categorized under identify.
Overall I like the story but I just feel we don't get enough information about the world and what would be common knowledge to the people living there. - NinjaDuceRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Interesting Mc, a ton of foreshadowing and intrigue. World building has my attention and I can't wait to continue and see where all this is heading. Author does an excellent job of setting up tension. Somehow I already felt for the main character in just the 1st 2 chapters. I'm only 10 chaps in and there's been a few turns I didn't expect lol. There's a handy glossary at the beginning that I'm resisting checking out as I'm enjoying the writing style drip feeding info organically. Highly suggest checking this one out
- deus vultRoyal Road★★★ 3.0everyone is kind of a jerk. the writing is bad and barely gives out any details and mostly focuses on world building. which is mildly interesting. the chapters are short. the fighting scenes have nothing to do with summoning at all. and everyone is mc's life is selfish, stupid or evil. including the main character. there is no personality to the tamed monsters, and no bond or connection. which is what makes the pokemon fanfics so good. frankly, he doesn't need them beyond being extra help to fuel his spellcasting. he only uses them as support. they don't have any moves or spells, they just attack. and the most we see out of combat is mc casting spells. there is a female lead but she doesn't talk much outside of crying and the mc mostly just insults her. she is supposed to be in the stupid category of people in his life, but doesn't get enough of a personality to be categorized as dumb. outside of mcs assholish behavior towards his supposedly childhood friend, there is not much interaction. overrall I don't like this story much/:
wouldn't recommend. - FourgettingRoyal Road★★ 2.0When I first started reading the story, the quality seemed pretty average. Unfortunately, that took a marked downturn just before the MC gets his first kill. Incorrect words are used, the MC's thorught processes and internal dialogue begin to make less sense, and the story flow occasionally gets broken by imprecise or short descriptions. The moment that finally broke my suspension of disbelief is when the MC, over the course of three sentences, changes how he treats someone from irritated apathy to disappointed condescension.
