Description
Everyone had a burden, and Lilith wasn't an exception to this rule despite being born on the winning side of the world. There were two types of people, those who chose to face their problems and those who pretended they didn't exist by indulging themselves.
She was no doubt the latter. One of the few things that helped her do this was a VRMMORPG game, [Infernum]. Released a decade ago by an unknown firm , it was a game so immersive, so realistic that it blurred the line between VR and reality.
But was [Infernum] really just a simple VR game? Or was there something more to it than met the eyes?

- spectremagicRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is not your everyday zombie romp read. I have reviewed and read several of the works of Camadt and this one speaks to me in a way that the others have not. Some of my views of this are similar to some of my others, so I won’t dwell on them too long, see rant/rave about character growth, but this is the first one of their books that has caused me to reach out to the author with how excited I got on Royal Road right after reading a chapter, so that was a super win in my book for Camadt with this series.
I see a lot of myself in this book. While I do have my rants about MC, the way he copes with things is super relatable. Camadt spends more time in MC’s headspace than other of his books, which is a very new approach and a thrilling read. Reminds me in some ways of how the horror genre used to be in how they dealt with the trauma a character is going through and how that changes them, for the better or worse is up to the reader, but change be a coming.
In a world where zombies exist with how zombies work, regardless of whether it’s biological or magical, loss is something people in such a world will live with, so if dealing with people on an emotional level is a read you’re looking for, this will be super up your alley. If not, the fun shenanigans the MC is put through are worth it for that alone. Some of the tertiary characters made me giggle several times, and then the aforementioned instance that caused me to reach out to Camadt had me in fits of excitement that only a good book that you’re hours into can cause. Can’t wait to see where this series will go!
