Description
What happens when a reincarnation goes horribly wrong?
Oran Farrow is not who he used to be. The soul inhabiting his body was once a sick man on earth, suffering from chronic pain and despair. He prayed for an end to his torment, and death answered.
Only death wasn’t the end, it was a new beginning.
Now in a different world, with a body and name that are not his own, he must learn to navigate a world of monsters and magic. For most people dealing with demon cultists, a lovesick necromancer, and worst of all, being a shambling corpse, would be hard. But after the life he’s had, Oran couldn’t be happier!
Nobody has it as good as the dead.

- WeirdWallyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Pretty funny mc. Interesting world building. Excited to see where the series will go. Really enjoy the progression system. I hope there will be a map to see where the mc has gone. The world seems really interconnected kind of like dark souls. I hope that some of the side characters get flushed out a bit more.
- Willow86Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Idk why people leave you bad reviews this story is awesome, keep at it please the humour is enthralling! Also very excited for the different evolution options Mr handy gets :)
Ooh another thing I wonder how will the blessing affect the skill he gets as well as the evolution choices as it gets more and more personalised. Love your work. - [email protected]Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0You are following an undead. The reasoning if attempting to be moral, but really doesn't get "moral" options.
The story I would consider semi slow burn. There is action, but it is usually brief.
The mc is centric to the story so far and not a lot of side characters get a lot of exposition. Some. But not a lot.
I don't mind this however.
There is a few nudge to fart jokes. They don't all come off successfully.
But there is also other humør types.
It is an interesting read. - melzalgaddRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0how wonderful this story is! i love the way is written and the world building! the mc is, of course, the main reason all of this is so enjoyable to read. the author did such a good job creating him. i am so ready to see more! keep the good work, author. 💞
- Hang ZoedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story starts kinda slow, with most of the early chapters being killing monsters and leveling up. However, the story quickly picks up as soon as he reaches and certain point early and starts meeting people. The story has good side charecters, good minions (Skelly bro hope to see u soon fr), and finally and most improtantly great world building that we have only started scratching the surface of.
- IsignisRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Seriously funny yet deep enough, dark humor and even darker circumstances for our shambling MC. Fast paced Mc progression yet still feels squishy. Good side characters and an overall pleasure to read.
I specially love the love-struck necromancer! Definitely unique.
Definitely give this a try! Keep it going author! - KeywielderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0While the story just started it has been an interesting start to a unique story. The MC is on his way to become a dapper undead in a body that isn’t his own. I usually don’t enjoy stories with too much comedy but As Good As Dead balances comedy and story progression pretty well. The few characters we’ve been introduced to have had well fleshed out backgrounds and good reasons for their motivations. While we haven’t seen much of the world outside the catacombs yet, there seems to be a well built world out there that’s ready to be explored when the MC can blend into normal society. The writing style is clear and well spaced, and I like how system notifications are always bolded and concise. There are very few grammar mistakes and the chapters are always easy to read. Looking forward to his progression until he can get outside of the catacombs hopefully. This is a great light hearted story to read with a good amount of depth still. The race progression due to him being a monster while still in the early stages offers a lot of options in the future and add magic in to that looking forward to the rise of a power creeping zombie
- Khan of KhansRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A really great take on the reincarnation genre. The plot is really good it keeps me from wanting more. Really liking the MC's optimistic personality. The pacing is great it's neither stretched or rushed. The writing of it is really nice a few typos but really fluid and easy to read. I'm really enjoying this story and i hope it keeps it up. Overall it's a 5 out of 5 would recommend.
- MavrickRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.05 star because I felt like I could not stop reading once I started, and the story is interesting while the level-up abilities aren’t generic crap you encounter. It feels like there are unfinished threads in the story right now and that is also keeping me hooked. This guy needs a healing ability though, seriously. I’m really looking forward to reading more of this.
- Mo astrayRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I will limit myself to giving my opinion on the reason why I like this novel: the advances are in accordance with what is presented and you use the stigmas well, the trait system is very good, being useful but being limited so as not to make each other redundant, In addition, there is some form of intermediate evolution that no matter which one you choose does not affect your future choice for normal evolution, since each evolution grants traits per level, more options for the traits of choice, meaning that the same creature can have different combinations, making them more interesting. since only "true" evolutions and not intermediate ones enable some paths of evolution and close others
