Description
In Eith Arador, a world of magic, ancient powers litter the wilds long abandoned and forgotten. Having been at the mercy of devils once before, Maico is cautious for his youth, and plans for future challenges just as threatening. And there are more than just demons waking from their slumber.
It is an era of celestial alignments, places of cataclysmic power, and artefacts that might warp the fundament of reality itself. The greatest trophies are either cursed or guarded by immortal entities. You would need a thousand measures against thousands of contingencies to find sanctuary. Many fall victim to even the most unassuming of traps, but Maico is different. If you are reading this, you will come to know him.
He appraises items, and then he fixes them.
Follow an apprentice enchanter through his own words as he learns magic, sells trinkets of wonder, and deals with the little problems of the world. On the way he meets whimsical creatures, monsters, and the strange folk who pass through Tintinnabulis.

- j03manRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The Style is refreshingly unique. Every chapter is written as a journal entry and makes the storytelling very unconventional without feeling forced or overly contrived.
The Story pace is slow, which is basically demanded by the 'slice-of-life journal-entry' style. If too much happens too many chapters in a row the pace might improve but it would feel more contrived and rob the story of its grounded charm. The retrospective viewpoint of a journal entry also robs the story of tension in the moment but the limited perspective keeps you guessing as to how the main character's blindspots may lead to conflict in an upcoming chapter. The slow pace is compensated for with intricate world building but if "sparse action and intricate world building" doesn't sound like fun this story isn't for you.
The Grammar is mostly great but there are a decent number of typos that would lend to the authentic charm of a journal entry if they weren't unmistakably keyboard typos and not hand written typos.
The Characterization is good but the lack of omniscient perspective neccesitated by a journal entry means that only subjective characterization is possible and that characterization of secondary characters is all filtered through the main character's viewpoint. - TechmanRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The synopsis is very vague, so this review will contain more detail while avoiding spoilers.
This far (28 chapters) the story is a refreshing slice-of-life world building story without massive stakes or grimdark villains. The MC is the oldest son of a family of enchanters and has been minding the family store while his parents are traveling for work and research. Some wards fail at an inopportune time, some imps escape and hit him with some mind magic. The story picks up with him trying to figure out what they did to him, what happened while he was "out", and what caused it all to happen in the first place.
This brings us to the unique presentation of the story. Every chapter is a journal entry in a magical diary the MC has started to help him remember everything in the event he ever gets his mind messed with again. A clever way to explain things to a novice in this world like the audience.
After all the grimdark horror and evil lords you find on RR, it's refreshing to read about a dude just living in a magical world.
The world building has been interesting so far, with hints of many unexplored things to come.
I would recommend this story, just know you're not getting epic battles.
