Its like GATE and Log Horizon combined together but with a more kinda immature modern military. I came here expecting that it would be something like people from a modernized age steamrolling the natives as it is hinted by the description of this story "means to do damage and commit war" and not only that, the story is also supposed to be about politics, strategy, and war. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be true to the exact sense. Why? because the story does not actually focus on the modern people with modern guns and etc but rather on a party of individuals having the generic isekai mc with tragic past. In the beginning you only get to be interested because there is strategy involved, politics, and then war is about to happen but as you progress more in the novel... that tends to be forgotten.
In the beginning of the story till the point i've read. The modern military vr players only won one major engagement. The rest is just being toyed and steamrolled by the Hero saint's faction and hostile natives.
. I expected that modern era military should be winning because it is hinted upon the description but its as if i was betrayed and lied to as I have been given a different material that I dont even like when I hoped that they may actually have a comeback but of course the Hero saint that has the magic powers can see the future. Story was good in the beginning until it shifted it's focus on a single party of individuals while putting the background political forces behind. And dont get me started on this one, the mc protagonist goes with the sword in half of the engagements instead of relying fully on modern equipment.
MC gets hot vampire countess and hot ancient vampire queen then the story becomes a harem. Bro atleast put the harem tag on your story.
The story's protagonist is not overpowered but it's even worse because he is overly reliant on his party. Overall,The story is good for those who actually enjoy normal isekai stuff. For me, this story = bad, becaus

Okay first of all false advertising, you would think a novel talking about a modern military being isakaied with a cover photo also of it with the first 5 chapters leading up to the military getting isakaied would be about the military but nope some poor sob with a backstory that has nothing to do with anyone is the Mc
-so plot okay for the first 5 chapters then all the build up and explanations you read through go turn to crap and become useless.
-the side characters wonderful for the 2 minutes you got to know them but also useless because we will never hear about them and the modern weapons again.
-the og main character seemed cool and had a level head on his shoulders but the "new" MC is the most generic Mc imaginable
