Description

In the final battle against the demon lord, the world lost its hero, who died after defeating the great evil. The world should have entered an era of peace following the demon lord's demise. Instead, it plunged deeper into chaos, born from conspiracy and deceit. Now, the question remains: will the world of Solandis succumb to annihilation, or will someone rise from the hero's ashes?

Aria, a half-elf and the apothecary of the Hero's party, survived a grim fate caused by the betrayal of those she trusted. Struggling to keep her faith and hope alive, she embarks on a journey to find justice in an unjust world. However, the death of the demon lord did not mark the end of evil; another, more powerful entity took its place. Now, without the hero and her friends, Aria must confront her fears as she navigates a world plunged into constant darkness.

The AI assisted content tag seems to be from AI translation, which makes few mistakes. Unfortunately, it cannot fix formatting errors. It can also make the work read a bit oddly at times.
The style of the story is odd. The first few chapters are really poor in comparison to the rest of the work. There are a few times in the beginning that the first person perspective is used randomly, but this stops happening later on. The writing is a bit choppy at times, and the author sometimess greatly shorten scenes to a single brief paragraph. My final gripe with the style is that we spend A LOT of time in other POVs. It is not uncommon to spend several chapters outside of the MCs perspective, and later on, she just has brief POV shifts so that we can experience her side story during the main story other people are continually advancing. Certainly that is an odd thing to say, but it's the truth.
That said, despite not being the protagonist of the story, the MC is very likable. Shockably likable. When given a chance to show agency, she's wonderful. The characters are well written, but they use a ton of nicknames and labels that can make following scenes packed with characters difficult.
The world building is a bit weak, but the overall plot and intrigue is awesome.
...I wish there was an intrigue tag on this site.
