Description
Valens Kosthal was called a genius. A prodigy. Now he has to prove he remains one, even in another world.
Valens is the youngest Life Archmagus the Empire has ever seen. His mastery over Resonance allows him to hear the frequencies of the world and correct them, healing even the deepest wounds. Yet he could do so much more, if only it weren't forbidden—the little he can practice must be done away from prying eyes.
So when an ancient ritual promises to reveal the truth behind it all, he leaps at the chance. It leaves him alone in an unfamiliar world, deep in a dungeon crawling with rotten skeletons and towering beasts... and a System. One that grants him the secrets of Warmagic as easily as breathing.

- Peter HeitmanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm really enjoying this book! I like the MC. His struggles seem real. It's great that he doesn't know what to make of the System is well written. The secondary characters are interesting and not generic. I'm looking forward to when the MC meets more people from the new world. Definitely worth reading and I'm anxious to read new chapters

Original Lore and Realistic Mage
Not dumb, but smart. An actual smart character.
The lore is deep and well thought.
The plot is clear and long.
The character have dimensions.
The grammar and vocabulary used is top notch.
Overall a perfect work. - ThelmRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0In a richly woven tapestry reminiscent of 'Malazan Book of the Fallen' and 'Lord of the Mysteries', this story of a displaced mage captivates with its intricate world-building and deep character exploration. The protagonist’s struggle for identity amidst chaotic magic and shifting allegiances adds layers of intrigue. The seamless blend of suspense and philosophical depth makes it a must-read for fantasy lovers. Brilliant!
- IchorMortisRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very interesting so far! The grammar and spelling itself are impeccable for those who can't stand otherwise but the story itself is quite engaging as well. Grim world full of grim people. Nothing seems spoon fed to you, so there are many questions about many things that I personally think I require an answer for. Personally I like the mystery and how the author doesn't treat you like a fool; it's more show than tell, where some others will simply tell as you move through the world.
It's a very strong start - Jaelyn LilyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A short and sweet review, I quite like the characterization of Valens. He strikes me as a 'See a problem, fix a problem' kind of guy, and measures his risks before he takes them. As with many isekais, he's working with incomplete information, but watching him synthesize what he can is very believable, and watching him leverage his unique-to-this-world talents is encouraging! The strength that he'll eventually obtain will be well deserved, I'm sure of it.
- SfinnicumRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Addicting story, Ive binged through it in a couple of days. Can't wait to see where it goes. Why is 50 words needed? I liked the story, I'm not a writer. Good lord. Yes read this. It's good it's fun. Anyway I hate doing reviews, but this was good enough for me to post one
- tinyassassinbfRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Pretty great book so far, the magic is interesting and the characters all seem detailed!
I love how the MC doesn't even hesitate to use his magic, and so far it's giving mage + surgeon that really speaks to how versatile the magic is.
The other characters aren't one dimensional, and they interact well without the MC HAVING to speak up. - CrydenRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5The premise is neat and novel, with the isekai from one magic world to another. It's competently written, but with occasional wordings or phrases in stilted/olden English that I assume are a stylistic choice, but can be hard to read. Dialog can be frustrating to read, with characters who desperately need to be more fleshed out. Character motivation is often annoyingly fluid and inconsistent. What made me stop reading is the over indulgence in mystic babble, with little to no explanation for the tens of mystic sounding names and concepts, which the MC frustratingly seems to just... not care about looking into/thinking more deeply about. Over 800 pages in, and 99% of the concepts/mysteries introduced over the course of the story are completely unexplained STILL? Not only is it hard to continue being invested, it's also getting difficult to keep everything strait/remember every plot thread. It feels like there's been just about no payoff to anything yet. I will likely pick this up again once more has been written, but as it is I'm struggling to care about what's going on.
- CatgurlRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Prose style is convoluted and muddy; it is often difficult to understand what the author is trying to say. I am unsure if this is due to a poorish comprehension of english, a poorish translation, or an attempt at some sort of arcane middle english. Or who knows? Whatever the reason, the story suffers for it.
I love healer stories, but so far this is more of a dark dungeon necromancers story and it seems likely to stay that way. MC is also much more of a warrior mage than a healer, and that also seems to be the focus.
MC is likeable, but story is too dark, depressing and stilted for me and focus is not on healing - I was really looking forward to a healer story. I can see why others like the story, but I think I am done. - NasreenRoyal Road★★★ 3.0By all regards, the premise ways right up my alley. I should have liked this and I'm having a really hard time figuring out why I didn't.
The author has a very... flowery?.. style of writing. They over-write when simplicity would work just as well - better, probably, because you wouldn't be trying to think through a paragraph of flowery, descriptive prose just to realize "oh, he walked over to the sink and got a glass of water. Why didnt they just say that??" Incredibly descriptive, atmospheric writing has a time and place but when the whole story is written that way, It you just becomes tiring to read.
Take the following paragraph & imagine a book full of it:
The shadow moved. The figure strolled inside. It was just then that Jack lowered his chin and nailed his gaze to the floor. Shivers down his spine. Hairs standing on their ends. A dreadful prickling oozing into his skin. Breath caught in his throat. Caught there like a cold stone, refusing to move. He gulped.
