Love this story so far. Our hero starts small, with only minor advantages, and uses careful thought and humble diplomacy to navigate his new and difficult situation. Story doesn't spend too much time belaboring the system in place, and essentially the audience learns as our hero does. Looking forward to more chapters!

This is a pretty good entry into that genre of isekai stories where someone rapidly climbs in power as a mage. The magic system is unique, if not entirely comprehensible (I'm still confused). And the writing is fairly solid.
    A few points worth mentioning.
First, each chapter is very chunky, the pacing of the story is very fast. As noted in the synopsis, he starts out in the wilderness and having to survive. But that only lasts until
day 11, when he sets out to find a short term teacher and then civilization.
So, if the survival aspects was what you were interested in, that's going to end pretty quick.  Then, that first leg of the journey takes 9 days, and then he is with
his teacher from days 20-27, when he then leaves to head to civilization.
He gets there in 4 days.  And now we're up to day 36 of his story, and we're just about to cut-off the hiding in peace arc, and jump into something bloodier.  This is both literally a very fast pace.  And, when it comes to letting each arc breath, a very fast pace, where it feels like we're missing out on a bunch.
Second, the broader arc that starts from day 11 and continues to date
i.e., where the bad people are trying to capture him to use as a boytoy
kicks off because he rather foolishly
rushes into an ongoing battle and reveals his existence.
This is not a particularly satisfying way to start off an arc, and while it eventually fades, the sting of that odd turn lasts for quite a few chapters.
Finally, there are some gender themes which I'm not quite sure what to make of. Men are specifically targeted by the forces of evil because they be used to potently reinforce them. So, there are very few men left, the ones that are tend to be kept protected behind walls, etc., and it's implied that the problem is so bad that the civilized races are in population collapse because of it. (Relatedly, almost every character refers to him as a "boy," not a "man." I'm not sure what to make of that either.) And, to date, we have not met a si
