- HildegardHopeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Anvesh is a very fun story to read. Ray is a great main character. The world-building is unique and the formatting isn't tiring to read. The writing in each chapter improves greatly and the trials that Ray has to face are things that I haven't seen in other stories. Even though it has a generic premise the author does a great job of differentiating the core plot from other stories. I loved the first trial with the desert that made you age. And the plot is really starting to pick up. It is very action focused, and I hope that this story gets more of a following, it really deserves it. As for criticism? I think that the only problems will be fixed with time.
I think that a little bit more description could be added, and occasionally there is some clunky dialogue, but it is evened out in the later chapters as the author finds his stride. If i was to offer any advice it would be to make sure that he can handle the daily uploads, and to not feel pressured to try and keep it up if he runs out of drafts and needs to shift it to twice weekly, or weekly. - MysticHoodRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story goes way harder than I expected. It absolutely nails the brutal survival-heavy dungeon crawl feel but what makes it stand out is how everything feels earned. The protagonist is not some overpowered chosen one. He has to bleed for every inch of progress. You actually feel the struggle in every fight, every decision, and every moment of exhaustion. The labyrinth itself is basically a character at this point, shifting, closing them in, and messing with their sense of control. It does not just throw enemies at them. It reacts to them, which is what makes it so damn terrifying. You never know what is coming next and just when you think you do the story changes the rules.
But honestly the character dynamics are what make this special in my opinion. The way the protagonist and his mentor interact is not forced or overly dramatic. It is built through shared suffering, respect, and just the right amount of sarcasm. Their banter makes them feel real and it keeps the story from feeling too bleak. The pacing is perfect. It gives you time to breathe but never too much. The fights are tense, tactical, and straight-up insane. The twists are amazing. My review is that if you want high-stakes survival, earned progression, and a world that actively bullies its main character, then I'd give this a read. - JestersGambitRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Ray's reactions are very realistic. As a previous slave is a thrown into the cursed sleep trials and does his best to survive. Likely, he was used to the struggle of surviving due to his prior life as a slave. His backstory, with his mother is also integrated nicely into the starting chapters. The chapters also have a nice flow to them, especially the beginning ones. However, the only thing I would say is the desert trial could have been slightly longer. It felt pretty short. Other than that keep it up! This is a pretty good story so far. Also the relationship with Alkan and Ray seems to be developing nicely.
