First of all, I made the error of immideatly googling the title out of curiosity. DON'T, I feel the story would've impacted me way more if I hadn't googled what the phobia was.
Story:
Anthropophobia is a short but enjoyable horror story that follows a group of characters as they face an unknown threat on the mining moon of Adamas. I think the story was very well paced and intriguing. I am a big fan of stories that surround this type of setting. I enjoyed the banter and little hints at a greater world that were scattered about. I never felt overwhelmed; it was a smooth read for the most part. Which is why I rated 4.5. I will admit one thing did annoy, but its a super me thing, and I don't want to spoil anything.
Characters:
I think the characterization for the main characters was done very well, and I could clearly tell who was who. Except for like two characters, but I don't consider them like main characters. The character motivations were very neatly expressed, and I enjoyed them quite a bit. I think the characters were well written, so I rated a 5.
Grammar:
Outside of some comma's missing here or there and some weird syntax like twice, it was pretty prestine. So I gave it a 4.5.
Style:
This was one of the main and only real weaknesses I felt, and that was the transitions in some scenes were a little jarring; it took me out of the story like twice, but they're minor errors that can be pretty easily fixed. They did kinda ruin the vibe of the horror when they did occure, but not enough to warrant a low rating or anything, so I gave it a 4.
Overall:
Overall, this story was 5 for me. It had clear language and excellent pacing, and I loved the concept that the author went for. I highly reccomend people give it a read! - John.MalkinRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I gave a rundown of the problems as a post to the story. There are technical errors that could be easily fixed. Most of them should have been caught before posting, but everyone misses some. The major problem is the story is first that it should be broken up into a few logical chapters, and second that it jumps point of view at the end without notice. I'd give it an another star if those things were fixed. The best way I can describe it, is that it feels like a second draft, not a finished story. It would be better if the genre was listed in the blurbs. I read HFY stories so I saw where it was going along with the genre very early on as I mention in comments.
