Description

Array King Dane has had enough of the cultivator's world. Fight, kill, grow stronger, and fight some more, that was their lifestyle. Cultivation was nothing more than the eternal rat race of immortals and everyone falls at one point or another. Eternity made any odds a guarantee given enough time, and Dane was quitting the game while he was still ahead.

And so he retires. No more fighting, no more killing, no more violence. He's chosen peace, but unfortunately, peace has to be protected.

I've really enjoyed this so far. Similar in feel to Beware of Chicken as it seems like a more slice of life wuxia novel except the MC is very strong but wants a peaceful life. He respects mortals and isn't necessarily pursuing more power. Only disappointed it's only 13 chapters so far but has been fantastic so far. Definitely recommend if you like cultivation and are looking for something a little different.

It's an amazing story, following philosophies and paths of different beliefs and wants. It's a slow burn, but the premise of peace mixes very well with it. The only gripe I have with the story is the repetitiveness of at times. Due to (what I assume to be) extended release schedule, allowing readers to relearn the premise of the world, backstory and fillers are frequently revisited and restated.  As stated before, it's fine as a reminder after months of not reading the story, but for me. A reader that's been binging for a couple of weeks, it gets repetitive being retold about a world building aspect that had been established the chapter before. It's a minor flaw, but if the story is ever consolidated in to a proper volume. Revisions and edits would make it perfect in my eyes.
I hope you enjoy the Hiatus Author, can't wait for more!

This is set up to be a great Story.  The main character is powerful but is motivated to stay hidden to not draw the attention of greater powers while he is working on his master plan to escape the life and death struggles of cultivators.
I am a sucker for MC's that hide their true strength and the moments where idiots force the MC to give them a beat down because they thought and treated the MC like trash.
There are no massive changes with the rewrite, but with small changes and additional chapters from other perspectives, I am finding myself engaged with stories of side characters and concerned with their future well being.
Looking forward to future chapters and seeing how the story develops.

This is one of the best stories, that I read on this this site in years. Why? It's quite simple, really:
What was said on the description page is, in fact, what this story about. Not the first three, or the last three chapters in the Novell, but all of it...
So, if you want some low-key Slice of life cultivarors without constant jade rod polishing... You come to the right place, whoever you are.

    For me
The style of this novel which captures the essence of cultivation(dao and the likes) is really well explained and not only does it keeps you entertained but always wanting more.
Characters are really well written and are complex in their own ways as if they are actual people trying to accomplish goals of their own Ps:Chin Chin is my favorite character.
The most epic lore I have ever read seriously there is no comparison with others it is on a level of it's own, it really resonates with the bookworm in me.
And finally the humour that strikes at perfect timings leaving you with a good smirk or actually laughing out loud at times.
Are the things that i love about this novel. This novel also takes you on a really enthralling journey where you can't even take your eyes off the screen for even a minute.
This is one of the best novel I have ever read and I am really looking forward for it to keep entertaining me.
I really recommend this for every xianxia enthusiast or anyone who is reading this review believe me it's good stuff👌👌👍👍
Thanks for the awesome novel you wrote  and keep cooking

This is at the same time, a slice of life novel about a powerful man who wants peace and about the even more powerful men who crave war. The dichotomy does it justice.
It is slow paced enough to help us appreciate the peaceful moments, and fast paced enough that I never got really bored.
The writing is excellent. No obvious grammar issues. The prose is both easy to understand and detailed enough to evoke imagery.
Basically I loved reading it. I hope we all do

Good start nice adaptation of cultivation novel for an actual person. Really does a nice job of seaming like an actual person not a psychotic manic. I think the writing is very well done as well not just the idea but the verse and chapters as well. It seems very realistic by cultivation standards. The only thing is the very beginning skips some and maybe goes a little fast just the fisrt couple chapters.

I wasn't sure about reading this story but saw a review about how this is for people who have read a few cultivation stories before. I tried it out. It's true.
The author mentions some of the usual troupes for similar novels and we get actual reasons for why people act the way they do.
This is a reincarnation/isekai story of a kind but the reason is explained, the MC is powerful for a valid reason.
I've only reached ch 39 since the story is only so far along but it seems to be going towards a specific end goal. Even the extra parts of the story happening around are connected to that original goal (as far as can be seen so far).
Characters have development. I can't say all characters are fleshed out since quite a few we don't meet often enough, but the author has given life to a few which appear repeatedly.
I don't know how people who haven't read cultivation novels will take the stories, but if you have, then have a read. I think you'll like it 👍

Immortal Retirment is an exceptional story so you guys really should just read it ,but if you need a little more convincing here.
This isn't a story about progression and challenging the heavens or a journey of discovery or even about an OP protag. This is about a very old semi powerful (realtive to others in the multiverse) cultivator thats tired of cultivator BS. He just wants to live peacefully. Unlike many other protags that fit this mold he knows that this maybe the most difficult desire for him to fulfill ,so he preps and plans out a way for him to retire peacefully. That is all I am willing to share of the story. You really should read it.
Bill is a treat of narrator and does actually come off as an old wise cultivator that has lived for eons. The multiverse is extremely interesting to see even if Bill is slightly Jaded about the whole affair. Even the mortal of the setting are extremely well thought out which is extremely rare for these types of settings.
I probably didnt explain it well but eh just go read it youll see what I mean. Its a fun, thought provoking story about what eterinal life is really like for those that actually achieve it.

Nature of Man, Beast, Insect and Tree. Who the gods are, why they exist. The perspective of a mortal, to one observing the multiverse of existence. Ive yet to come across any xianxia as immersed in philosophy as this, and by virtue of reading it, you shall ponder existence and come to a greater understanding of it. There exist unfathomable powers, yet all is looked upon with the perspective of a man, disinterested in war, seeking peace.
