An Element for Power

Thomas used to feel excitement. He used to feel the triumph of victory. On Earth, when he played competitively, he had been a demon incarnate. But that was on Earth. On this new world, in the last three months, the tower Scofield had siphoned all of that out of him, taking away his drive, taking his happiness. The low floors were an endless trap, and the world outside was even more dangerous. Rising was impossible. Gaining power was fruitless.

The age where humans could fight against goliaths wasn't here, but there are those who try.
