- TheForgottenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Okay so to start with the story as a whole improves as it goes. The warning isn't needed at all as there is also a warning on the one sex scene written. The violence is low compared to most stories that I have read on RR.
Style: So I am docking points because of the shifting perspective. I don't mind a few changes but there seem to be too many to keep the plot racing. That being said I read everything published in one sitting because I liked the story enough to get over myself and my normal dislike of this style of writing.
Also this is written mostly in short form posts so if you were looking for something with long chapters this isn't always the one to look for. The Author has stated that they are shooting for 500 word posts. That said there have been several times they have posted longer chapters.
Story: OH MY! I love the premise of the story an author pulled into their own book! It's great and I love that idea. I enjoy the interactions that the MC has between most of the characters as he is trying to navigate knowing so much and being afraid to change it.
Okay so there are a few places at the start of the story where the author shifts from 1st person to 3rd and back again. This seems to clear out by the end of what is written at this time.
Character Score: I like the MC because of who he is. He is in a tough place because of what he knows and how to manage it. I hate him because of some of his actions. Which tends to make a good MC. If I liked everything he did he would be me.
Overall it is a very fun read if not slightly whimsical. I would put this in line with other light hearted stories like DCC. There are just odd things that happen in an odd place. Which makes the whole thing kind of catchy.
