Allegra's Tower

'What the gork is going on out there Orleon?'

Scratchy statics and clicks were the only reply.

From the viewscreen on the bridge, Allegra could see her seal brigade being whipped chaotically in all directions, as if a mini tornado had deactivated their navigational systems.

'Commander, report!'  she tried again.

'They've got a vortexual spinblaster, captain' more static ' falling back -- safe distance'

'Damn, where the hell did they get a spinblaster?  What the hell is Semian up to this time?'

'VILNAB, you copy?'

'yessssss, massster, I am here . . .'

'Can’t you do something about this?  Have you got anything to disrupt the chaos out there?'

'Get the ssssseals clear, masssster, I will try to drop the partssss bunker and magnetize it to their frequency . . .'

'Orleon, get your seals out to rock 383, on the double, will rendezvous in 5 . . .'

A rumbling vibration hit the ship and the contact was broken.

'Now what the hell?'  Allegra hit the com switch.

'Semian, you giant ass of a man! What is going on out there?  Why are you blasting my pod?  Semian!  Come in damn you!  SEMIAN!!!'

No response.  'Oh he better not make me come over there.  Semian!  You answer me!'

Crackly static, then a voice like velvet responded, 'hey hot stuff!  How is that cute little behind of yours doing?'

'SEMIAN!  You better stop this right now, if I have to come over there, I will black both your eyes, and put dents in most of the rest of your big pile of muscles!  Knock it off!  Stop right now and back off out of my air space!'

'Oh sweetness, just testing a new toy I acquired on Telvon 7, what do you think?  Quite fun at a party, give it a try . . .'

Allegra felt her ship vibrating with the resistance to the spin.

'VILNAB!  Now would be a good time.  .'

Then she saw sparkles of metals drifting closer to the vortex, spinning closer and closer to semian's ship.  Sitting on the edge of her seat, she held her breath as the discarded parts whirled into the vortex and moved closer as the magnetization drew the parts right at him.  Suddenly, the vortex stopped and the sparkles continued to slowly drift, eventually attaching themselves to Semian's hull.

She could hear him laughing in his deep baritone voice as the com unit was still open, oh how she hated the sound of that laugh.  She watched as his engines bloomed to life and his ship turned and flashed out of her air space.

'Catch you next time hot stuff, miss me' were his parting words.
