Description

In 2066, creativity is dead: all that can be imagined has been perfected by AI. The Great Revolution has eliminated the need to work, wonder, and hope for the future. Holographic ghosts of long-dead artists dance for a numb public, and inspiration is only an algorithm away.

It seems improbable that 20-year-old Aster, with her dreams of being a rock star, could have any hope at all. But there exists a device so forbidden many people don't even believe it exists— a machine capable of constructing dream worlds, whose unauthorized use is punishable by death. The question, then, is— will Aster risk the destruction of everything she knows to reach the top of the charts?

What to expect:

- 1984 meets Bocchi the Rock meets Evangelion

- Socially anxious MC

- The psychology of social anxiety, fame, and creativity

- Saturday morning cartoon comedy and band drama

This feels like a good comfortable wind-down story. Like when you want something tasty but not too heavy. Aster's a big blob of tired anxiety which makes her rather endearing! I like the nice blend of genres going on as well as the subtle critique of reliance on AI for creative endeavors.

Imagine a world that is something between "Brave new world" and "1984". On a surface it is utopian world of 2060s with futuristic technology and AI singers and stuff. But if you are protestor or dissident you will be sent to gulag, brainwashed, tortured or strait executed.
Stories protagonist is girl named Aster who suffers from crippling depression and severe anxiety has her only refuge in rock music of 20th century. Opposite to modern sterile music written and sang by perfect AI enjoyed by obedient masses, Aster loves imperfect, but emotion filled real music of century ago.
One day Aster gets woken up by her sister who anticipates new song of AI singer. Aster hates perfect artificial music. Also she hates modern world that enjoys it. So she left here home. While on the street she suffers from depression and fear of other people. She goes to place where she would be alone. To the observation flour of skyscraper. But the room was reserved by someone. Words were written happy 122th birthday. Aster scanned QR code and figured out that it was celebration of a woman who was popular rock musician in 1960s. Intrigued, Aster hesitantly entered room, there except for her was only said woman. Aster asked old woman about her past and she strated telling girl about her music history. New wave of severe depression stoked Aster. She new that she couldn't reach what woman talked about in modern world. Nothing could bring Aster happiness. So then old lady needed to distract from conversation, Aster on impulse ran to the open window to jump and end her life. It would be the end of her, if old lady didn't caught Asters leg and stopped her. Seeing the mess Aster was, old lady took out specific tool: absolutely illegal full virtual reality set. Government's punishment for using it is worse than death, but for Aster her life  already is suffering. I have only just recently discovered this story but throughout reading all the chapters I was entranced with its world and characters. The world its set in is eerie how likely I can imagine it being the possible future of the real world which helps ground the story as the 1960s depicted inside the Eden simulation is completely foreign to our own.
The characters themselves are all very fleshed out each having their own story of how they got their and as they are introduced the reader learns so much about them just from it. The only character I am not sure about is Sísí as I felt as though compared to the rest of the main group her introduction did not tell much about her but maybe we will learn more about her in new chapters.
In conclusion I'm loving every bit of this fiction so far and thinking of donating to the Patreon soon so keep up the good work man.

Reading the title of this story, I was not prepared for the dire tone that we begin with. It is clear from reading that the author has something they wish to say through this piece, and I believe that it is something worth listening to. Highly Recommend!
Style: The writer's focus on simple constructions throughout the piece both help to increase the readability and understanding of the piece, but also heighten the emotional impact of the piece. The tone itself is something that I feel is powerful.
Grammar: I didn't notice anything off here grammar wise. The writer demonstrates a clear proficiency with the language, and they employ it greatly here.
Story: This story has strong thematic through lines that beg to be analyzed. In a world where all pursuits are done by ai machines, a young girl only wishes to make music that is impactful and important. She yearns for her existence to be validated, and I think that a story like that could be relevant to anyone. As a result of her severe depression, she puts herself into a virtual reality where she believes her dreams are still achievable. The story follows from there.
Character: I found the characters in this story to be unbelievably grounded and realistic. There is a clear care given to telling the story of our protagonist here and how affected she is by the world she was born into. I see here the clear seeds of a great character study that will speak to something true to all of us.

Overall: 'All Yesterday's Parties' immerses readers in a captivating future world where AI and music collide, delivering a unique and engaging experience. While it has its quirks, this story has the potential to be a compelling journey of self-discovery and redemption.
Style: The writing style skillfully blends futuristic AI concepts with the charm of 1960s music. The chapter titles, which are pretty funny, add a delightful touch to the story, making it engaging and fun. The author's prose is dialogue-driven, creating a fast-paced and immersive reading experience.
Story: The story takes place in a dystopian yet utopian world of the 2060s, where AI reigns supreme. The protagonist, Aster, struggles with depression and anxiety, finding solace in the imperfect but emotionally rich music of the 20th century. The plot expertly navigates between the real world and a virtual reality, where Aster's journey to become a rock star begins. The story presents a unique take on the traditional VR genre, focusing on mental health challenges and personal growth.
Grammar: The story maintains strong grammar throughout, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable reading experience.
Character: Aster, with her relatable struggles and love for classic music, makes for a compelling and endearing protagonist. The characters interact naturally, despite the unusual circumstances. The story could benefit from a deeper exploration of 1960s culture and music. Nevertheless, 'All Yesterday's Parties' offers a fresh perspective on familiar tropes, making it an interesting read for fans of this genre.
In summary, 'All Yesterday's Parties' is a story with a promising premise, combining futuristic elements and a deep appreciation for music. With its captivating characters and engaging plot, it's worth a read for those seeking a quirky and charming narrative.

This story does a great job of hitting close to home with a futuristic view of AI while keeping things fun and engaging. It did give me a bit of a taste of A Brave New World, but music themed. I love the chapter titles, like Candy Warlord, and made sure to favorite it so I can keep reading!

I'm looking forward to seeing where this story goes!
The premise is an interesting mashup of sci-fi and historical that seems to have a lot of potential.  I enjoy the colorful cast and their interactions, especially the main character who is proving to be an adorable mess of anxiety that I can't help but root for.  It's clear that both the characters and the author have a passion for music, which adds a nice layer of detail and authenticity.  The writing style is sometimes unnecessarily verbose, but I don't find it detracts from the story.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one and would recommend checking it out.

So you spent money to get this shit in front of my eyes.
Well done. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to peer into the world you've made.
The story is about Aster a young adult struggling to find meaning in life that would make it worth living as at the start of the story they are merely surviving and would rather die than merely survive and watch as the days pass by. By a chance encounter they find something worth living for. Eden a paradise for the individual. Eden is a virtual world disconeccted from reality which's only goal is to fulfill the desire of the one who enters it. The previous is misleading as it seems to be very wish fullfilment-y and shallow of the which one cannot accuse this story of being.
The simplicity present in it is not shallow but that is neither here nor there.
I personally speaking imagine Eden to operate more upon "that which the consumer does not know they want" in the sense that if your innermost desire as a random nonspecifc example were to have an alien big titty goth gf. Eden would build you up and have you work a job or strive to fulfill your other artistic/creative/academic/working goals so that you could feel good about yourself and the person you would be becoming and first achieve serenity with thyself before providing the object you think you desire in such a way that it is fundamentally different. What do I mean? Well you have a life as an enterprising writer/artist and go to a coffee shop every so often for inspiration and to think of how to further your non romance related goals and in this coffee shop there is this girl that you get along with even though it seems that you shouldn't and in leanring about eachother you fall in love with the different sides of this girl that aren't as basic as you first requested. All the while your life goes on.
How does the above matter if it is a personal opinion? It matters in the sense that Eden does not just give you what you want, it puts you through hardship and the people

First of all, it cannot be understated that this authors vocabulary boarders on astonishing. I'd consider myself well-read, yet I'm constantly looking up terminology and finding myself in awe of the prose. The use of metaphors and descriptive language allows the reader to really dive into the main characters head. For those reasons and more, All Yesterday's Parties is no average Isekai.
The story follows the always anxious Aster as she struggles to find her place in the ever-advancing society she finds herself in. Aster, who suffers from what constantly verges on crippling anxiety, has found herself a stranger in her own home. She feels as if the tides of time are crashing over all that made humans special, especially when it comes to art.
Aster's family doesn't share her sense of disgust at the over produced works of art being produced by the AI algorithms of her time, and the story begins with her fleeting her toxic home in search for some space and time to breathe.
Aster looks up to the musicians of the past and dreams of being adorned on a stage in front of fans who would appreciate her unique talents. Even with her social anxiety debilitating her every desire, she cannot help but to wish she was born in another time...a time when music was pure and art was real.
Well, as the saying goes, be careful what you wish for!
This sci-fi Isekai with a music, time-traveling twist, was so conceptually interesting I couldn't help but continue reading; and plan to in the future.
    Style Score:
The author does a great job using descriptive language and metaphors to really get you in Asters head, even if it's not always a fun place to be. At times, I will admit, Asters mind seems to be a revolving door of negativity, which did begin to turn me off. However, I get the feeling as the story continues this will dwindle as she gains confidence in herself.
    Story Score:
The story itself is interesting, and conceptually, I can very easily imagine this being a movie. One with a sick sou
