I love this book, you've done great with all of it and I'm impressed with the character development, magical development and not losing your way. The characters feel genuine and it makes all the difference to me. I ended up picking this up as a quick read because I was bored. That changed very quickly and I ended up ripping through the entire book in a couple of days...

So far I've really enjoyed this fanfiction. The pacing at the start was quite quick, but that just allows the rest of the story to start, and it's done in a tasteful way. I'm not normally one to read Fanfiction, but I'll likely stay with this one even though it started as a Review Swap.
BONUS - Just wanted to throw this in here because I particularly like the way that the author is taking magic in the story so far. With the condensed training that the MC goes through at the start of the story I can see them turning into even more of a powerhouse than is normal. I also love that they've made this distinction between Foci and "unassisted" magic. It's something that's always bugged me a bit about the HP world and a normal fantasy setting. Looking forward to seeing where it goes!
Style - The author's writing is easy to understand and keeps track of the scene. They do a good job of describing the surroundings and what things look like without over doing it.
Grammar - Grammar was great. The story is significantly more polished than many other stories I've read on RR.
Story - Even though this is Fanfiction, I can already assume that the author takes it in a different direction. Harry being in someone else's body and the clear effect that "Fate" has on him (even in the first chapter or so) can really give Regolith some freedom to take this story wherever they want!
Character - The characters seem unique, but this might be my only gripe in the early part of the story. For their age, both characters seem extremely mature. In Eric's case, I can somewhat understand because of what he's been through, but at times, it just feels like others around him might also notice more odd about him than his smile. Also, with Harry, it's a bit confusing as of now to know it's Harry, but not Harry... I'm not sure. I don't want to give harsh judgment, so I'll continue to read and see where the author takes things!

While this is definitely a Harry Potter fanfiction, it is nothing like the books. The author has made bold changes to various characters and the setting to make it more grim and in some cases more consistent with an adult fiction.
Those changes show a side of the Harry Potter universe that would logically exist within that universe, but could never be explored by the main series given its aim is toward children.
The main plot revolves around multiple characters being body swapped around freaky Friday style with the inclusion of a new villian-esk main character. I can't say he is definitively evil just yet as I don't think I have read far enough, but as one commenter put it "Eric seems unhinged." Quite possibly for good reason.
This story starts before sorcerer's stone (the first book) so Harry hasn't even received his letter when we are introduced to him. You will find out very quickly how much the tone of the series is changed within the first chapter.
Overall it is am intriguing read for a Harry Potter fan especially if you enjoy a darker story and want to see what what the boy who lived could be if he wasn't a goody two shoes.

This fanfiction presents a refreshing twist on the Harry Potter universe by pushing the original protagonist, Harry Potter, to the background and centering the story around an original character, Eric Potter. Eric is a compelling character with an unreliable narrative that keeps the reader questioning what is real and what isn’t. His perspective adds an element of mystery and intrigue that elevates the plot, making the story unpredictable. The interactions between characters are a highlight, often filled with humor that had me laughing out loud.
However, this story may not appeal to those who are overly attached to the original Harry Potter characters. The author takes creative liberties with many of the canon characters, altering their personalities and backstories in ways that might be seen as disrespectful to the originals. From my perspective, though, these changes make the characters more interesting and complex, moving beyond their original "cookie-cutter" portrayals. This fanfiction is not a mere retelling; it reimagines the world and its characters in a way that feels fresh and exciting.
The writing is solid, with grammar and sentence structure handled well throughout. Overall, it’s a great read for those looking for a fanfic that dares to break from tradition while still honoring the magical world of Harry Potter.

I haven't read any of the HP books since I was young, for various reasons, so the content is not something I would typically seek out. However, I support the notion of people who still enjoy the series taking the story and making it more of their own and going interesting places with it. And this certainly counts as interesting.
The story has a consistent vibe to it. It feels both rooted in the source material but also has a solid grasp of the differences it wanted to pursue. I like the pocket dimension aspect and the premise of the story overall. I admit that it the premise is surprising, but done well.
As for the storyline itself, the premise is not what I would expect, coming into a fanfiction of HP. The whole concept of the pocket dimension and Eric is interesting and I'm curious if it will be tied into the main story eventually, or if it is a purely distinct concept. If I had a complaint, it's that some of the reasonings of the story are a bit vague, but I'm sure those reasons will eventually be explained more. I do like that we just fly through the source material's storyline with Eric being far more active and morally indifferent of a character than Harry was.
Grammatically, solid. The prose has a good flow to it and the conversations feel reasonable. There are a few mistakes here and there, mostly minor things that an editing sweep would fix, but overall quite good.
As far as characters, I like how most of the cast are handled. Obviously some liberties are taken, which leads to some interesting choices. Hagrid being very ethically dubious is interesting; I especially enjoy Dumbledore being treated as the obnoxious prick he is. However, I find that Harry/Ginny comes off as kind of flat. I wouldn't be surprised if that's intentional, and we get to see them be more emotive occasionally, but they generally come off as kind of mild and meek, which isn't what I expected. I quite like the more observant, curious characterization, but I also don't know as it fits ei
