Description

Can you be the hero when you’re destined to become the villain?

Right, so. Where were we?

The Intergalactic League of Pirate Demons, or so they call themselves, recently decided that Earth’s too beautiful and far too valuable a resource to be wasted on puny humans. Ergo, we face a demon invasion. From space.

Our only line of defense is an unlikely team of accidental superheroes, put together hastily by a pun-cracking Artificial General Intelligence with mysterious, and frankly questionable, origins—me.

And whom do we got to play with?

Hero name“Glitch”: An interdimensional teleporter who can’t seem to find his way back once he jumps away. Is an infectious love for birds and animals enough to defeat planet-conquering demons?

Hero name“Dove”: A potent healer, ifshe can stay in the fight. How can she provide any support if she immediately either freezes or flees at the first sign of danger?

Hero name“Sparky”: A spoiled trust fund baby with the power to control electricity, but cursed with an extremely short fuse. Imagine having the potential to be the God of Lightning and Thunder, but you choose to simply be a douche.

Hero name“Rhythm”: A kind soul born without the ability to see, but can tear down buildings with her voice. She did not deserve her struggles one bit, but can she overcome them?

And finally,

Alex, orhero name“Hunter” (if he’ll just accept it!): A reluctant superhero who might just be the key to winning this conflict, if only he could find the way to deal with his…inner demons.

The vast galaxy is a dark and dangerous place. Rumors of the Primordial System—long believed to be dead—being resurrected on Earth, have spread far and wide. Earth now shines like a prized beacon, simply waiting to be conquered. With the eyes of the Pirate League, the Demon Worlds, and not to mention, the mighty Galactic Empire itself, now fixed on Earth, sinister plots have been put in play.

Can we really find our place in the galaxy? Can we secure our future through the galactic wars to come?

Honestly, I’m not sure. We’re certainly doomed if I can’t figure out how to level up my heroes, while alsoteaching them how to work like a team.

Anyway, sorry to dump all this on you out of nowhere, I know you’ve had a lot on your mind lately. But if you’re interested to find out how we do, keep reading.

What to expect:

•Elevator pitch:InvinciblemeetsAttack on Titan.

• A weak-to-super-strong (but not OP) MC with demon soul absorption and shapeshifting powers. ThinkBen10but with demons.

• Fleshed-out secondary characters with individual goals, motivations, internal and external conflicts, and growth through struggle and hardships overcome. I’ve strived to make them feel real and alive. I hope I succeeded. :)

• An AGI-lifeform with a mysterious origin and an uncanny determination to protect Earth from harm and conquest. He’s putting together a team.

• A dynamic magic/progression system: Characters learn new spells and powers as they become stronger, while also inventing new ways to use older, weaker abilities.

• Interstellar quests, galactic politics, and super-hype fight sequences with strong emotional payoffs.

• Fast-paced action is balanced with slow-paced, character-focused moments. The story is NOT slow burn, but it’s not non-stop, high-octane murderhobo action fantasy either. It’s (hopefully) perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

• A long story with all arcs outlined and a definite end in mind. No hiatus, guaranteed.

This is such a great read. It’s still early, but the story seems interesting, the characters are likeable and they are fun to read.
The story is also progressing nicely, still in the early stages, but the plot keeps advancing.
i am a big fan of the fact that there are not going to be hiatuses with the story.
I hope to see much more of Alex.

I was blown away by the opening chapter! You managed to make me cry, so bravo!
Alex is a fun and likeable main character. Just a teenager who constantly keeps getting into trouble because he can’t tolerate the bullies. I love the simplicity of it. It would be interesting to see how he deals with … well … whatever that happened.
The fight scene was incredibly detailed. I was able to visualize everything as though I’m watching an action movie. The dialogues were exceptionally well-written and made the characters seem real. Each of them had their own unique “voice”.
All the characters from the blurb seem like they’ll make a fun crew to hang out with. I’m getting strong One Piece vibes. I’m especially interested to see what the AI character would be like. Robots with a personality always fascinate me and this one seems to have a lot of it.
From the hero squad, I feel the most excited for “Rhythm”. It’s a really cool name for a character who can’t see and has voice/sound based powers. I’d love to see what she’s all about.
I’ll post a detailed review later on as well but it felt like the first chapter deserved a review of its own.
In terms of grammar and writing quality, I can tell that you put a lot of effort and attention to the prose and it shows!
Good luck with this amazing story!

The blend of modern urban settings with supernatural elements feels organic, drawing the reader into a world where the mundane and the magical coexist in a precarious balance. The action sequences are thrilling, and the emotional beats resonate deeply, creating a well-rounded reading experience.
Character Development: The characters in Alex the Demon Hunter are multi-dimensional and relatable. Alex has a blend of vulnerability, inner strength, and fierce loyalty making him a compelling hero. His relationship with his mentor Ojii-san is beautifully written, with moments of humor and warmth that make Ojii-san's fate all the more poignant. Was going through royal road when I found this in my recommended and boy am I glad it was there! This is simply a hidden gem!
    Style:
The style is amazing perfectly balanced between action and calm, moments where everything is chaotic fluidity going to a calm pace
    Story:
The story is still in it's early phases but from what we have it's seems to have a big and well thought story, with it's good hint of mysteries
    Character(s):
I love them all, everyone feels so alive and real, everyone so far has their fair share of uniqueness, the MC isn't unlikable or annoying and the reasoning behind his actions is also very clear, the others introduced so far has also the same realness behind their actions and I love them all for that, some times it's so hard to find storys where the characters are alive
    Grammar:
Not seen any errors and it's very well written, hadn't any trouble understanding anything and makes the story flow perfectly
    Overall:
Defined a good story. So far I'm loving everything in it and I'm really intrigued to see where this'll go from here. The story is also so well written, you can see the author really loves these characters. Really good and definitely deserves a read, also good to pass the time binge reading!
