Age of Dungeons

Description
Instead of that date Mark thought he was going on, he was summoned as a champion for another realm royal succession battle. Now he must help Amelia win the succession battle, Age of Dungeons, because the winner becomes high ruler of the realm, the losers will fall with their dungeons.
The whole realm watches and awaits. Gather resources, Advance your Dungeon, Build your armies, and Conquer your foes.
I wanted to create a dungeon core-like story that more closely resembled some strategy games I played growing up: Civilization, impossible creatures, and of course Age of Empires.
Notice: First draft of the story is complete and on here. I plan to do a rewrite someday. However for now I will be starting a similar dungeon core story on July 28, 2025. It will be called dungeon wars.

This story is perfect for me. As I am a huge gamer, and have played copious amounts of games that have elements that are used in the story, this story is like a fantasy you might dream of and think: That would be so dope!
And, it really is! I love the tension, the decisions made and the thoughts behind them, yet also that the decisions made by the MC aren't the only viable options, and I love the progression! The characters are believable, and the world feels immersive and real.
Throughout the story we learn more and more about how the whole ascension battle works. And through such you can imagine countless of ways things can play out. Not just in the battle we are witnessing in this story, but in any number of battles past or future. It is truly a treasure trove of potential in that regard!
Here and there you can find a typo, yet there isn't much that you can't discern for yourself. The story is easy to read and follow, whilst also being more than flavorful enough.
I want to wait with a full blown review for when the story has some more chapters. But for now, this story deserves all the praise it can get, because it's good. Real good! It had conquered a spot on my favorites list rather early on. And I only just saw the lack of reviews, which can't stand for something so lovely! Keep it up, loving the work so far, and can't wait to see where things go! - WrainBashRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is pretty different from what is standard of dungeon storys. I like it a lot. The MC is cool if a little flat but it's the first arc of the story. There seems to be a bit of development for the MC in CH 14. I know I like lots of personal conversations between characters in stores I read. Thank you Grimms for the story I need more however I will be patient. Much love mate.
- BronzestarRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Dungeons as reality TV is certainly a novel take. One I've enjoyed so far. The different units are fun. The casual disregard of goblin welfare never fails to amuse. And them unlocking new units is a treat. The MC was pretty passive at first. I'd export more from.being suddenly kidnapped and part of a death game but that's okay.
- Lorim IronheartRoyal Road★★ 2.0Fair warning up front: there are potential spoilers ahead.
The story starts out good. Fun premise and a novel setting. The story is written okay, though there are some weird things like the MC totally not caring that he's been kidnapped into a death game, told he can never return to his loved ones and is basically just there so his summoner won't die alone but in company of a cute guy. (First/second chapter). This is never adressed again somehow, MC seems to be completely fine with that for some reason.
There are also some plot lines that have been started and set up as a major thing (sponsorships and someone to promote them for example), but they are randomly dropped or not really shown at all.
Be aware that there are quite a few grammatical errors/typos in the story. Also there are multiple occassions where the incorrect character names are used by the author, especially later on in the story.
The story progresses as you'd expect, but with interesting mechanics and some unique, yet not far fetched units/army compositions. So that's absolutely well done in that regard.
And then to the biggest issue. I strongly suggest to not read the last chapter/epilogue. The second to last chapter ends in a way that works well and in a good place. Then the epilogue basically undoes everything the MC has worked towards, invalidates all his aims and the promised/strongly suggested future is just not there.
Up until the epilogue it's an okay story, fun ideas and some interesting characters. Certainly a story with potential! Just in need of some good proofreading to get grammar/spelling mistakes and wrong naming issues out of the way
The epilogue either needs a rewrite or be deleted in my opinion. It's just such a depressing ending in a moment that should be the most uplifting in the story.
