- CimarronRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Just in the first few chapters you can tell what an excellent read this book is. This is a book for people who enjoy a romance or are interested in science fiction. It is filled with some humor and suspense. The writing is smart and clever but it's easy to read.
- LesaRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Fantasic read, sassy, whimsy, funny.....wanted more. I truly wanted more of Theodore's denial this dude is so sweet and funny. It makes you think, makes you wonder, it takes you out of reality for a while, and that's what a good story should do, right? It felt like I was going on a journey with Theodore. Did I say Fantastic already? well I meant it. Also, it is very whimsical like fantasyland level.
- VedoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The technical aspects of this story were good, and the pacing once it began also adequate. What I would have liked to see more of was Theo's attempt to rationalize the situation.
The dialogue between Theo and wife is good. I assume there wiull be more there in the future.
Things that I felt needed improvement was a sense of urgency. I need to know more clearly the goal of the story. But that is a personal preference. Depth and exploration is nice as well and if that is the goal I would like to truly be immersed in the world.
The most interesting thing for me was the class. Theives and archers, theo's compassion, there is a robin hood nature already forming and that is intriguing.
I didn't like when Mae tested theodore, and called the others NPCs though. It made me dislike her, but if that is the goal? Also, I think Theodores reaction at the point needs to be more detailed.
I can imagine what he felt, but I think being guided through it as well would be alright in that context. It is a great charecterization moment for Theodore and it wouldn't hurt to be as clear and concise as possible, while still leaving enough room for me to make my own opinion.
