A gripping crime drama that's deep focus on its characters lends itself to fantastic character work through the story. I appreciate the painstaking work that goes into showing why the characters are doing what they are doing, to such a point that while I may not neccesarily agree with them from a personal perspective, I understand why they are doing what they are doing. And it makes me love the characters all the more. And as for the fantastical elements of the story, they spice up the narrative and add a whole new dimension to the story to consider while still feeling grounded. It asks both the reader and the characters to consider everything from a different perspective, and the question that haunts me as the reader is how much will the Pen affect the characters as it does the world around them?
Each speaker in the story feels clearly recognizable from one another, from how they view the world down to what and how they speak, as they each have their own distinct voice. And every voice brings its own splash of color to the narrative. Its genuinely interesting to peer into the minds of people like the analytical Magi and peel back the layers in seeing just what kind of people they are. I greatly look forward to seeing what else this story has up its sleeve.

I love the mixture of fantasy and crime drama, the characters are interesting and distinct. I love that Quinn actually has motivations and isn't written like some kind of psycho with a killer pen. Great job can't wait to read more.
Why does Olinda give me creepy mom vibes?
The answer to that question comes in Quinn 10 because Olinda seems extremely fake. Like she's hiding something.
I love the mystery with all the characters the author does a great job at dropping little breadcrumbs for book worms like myself that love to pick through every single detail to figure out what it all means. I honestly can't wait to keep reading this book.
Quinn is a cinnamon roll and must be protected, even if he's slightly demented.
