“Raise your blade.  Take up the mantle of Slayer.”

Adam’s life was anything but easy.  With people at both school and home eager to make his life a living hell, the only place that he felt right was in the virtual world. At least there he had some  control.

When the newest VRMMORPG title gets announced, Adam and his best friend Max are more than ready to dive in.  Launch day arrives quickly, and Adam is plunged into a world that’s more immersive than anything he’s experienced before.  Although the game offers a bevy of character choices, Adam quickly chooses the title ofSlayer, a class that specializes in taking out stronger, more difficult opponents.  Adam begins his adventure, but its not long before he realizes that there’s much more at stake when taking a life in this new game.  The pain is very real and death… is permanent.

Now, trapped in a virtual world, Adam must take the name Zander Darkblade and brave the dangers of the Aether Gate.  It is a world of mighty creatures and fallen gods, and of secrets that have laid hidden for far too long...

Im really enjoying this story!  Updates are frequent, grammar issues are few to none, the world-building is interesting and the character interactions are a pleasure to read.  Can't wait for more!

Just finished reading the latest chapter posted (24) and so far I'm liking the story very much. Characters are well thought out and portrayed though I would like to see some more into the "main group" especially Hilda who's been with the MC pretty much from the beginning.
"Physically" the story is very well written and I found the spelling, editing and grammer well handled.
All in all a nicely done traditional style fantasy world with some very cool classes, weapons, monsters and quests. Even little bits of humor here and there "traditional arrow to the knee"... I'll be looking forward to more from this story and to the author, thanks for a great read so far.

It's been a while since I read this. But it just didn't draw me in, it was okay story wise. A VRMMO death game kinda like a copy of swordart. Writing is ok, grammar is okay also. The story is not that great, but I have read like five other stories that use the same story so it is kinda getting old.

How do you expect me to like your MC if you always use a step character to show him?
Nakama power to play an easy game, nakama power to scare bullies, nakama power to beat the first boss, nakama power to find adventures, nakama power to have a goal... Dam, it's okay sometimes but nonstop?

Read to chapter 11, couldn't take it anymore after that.
This novel is stupid. First, the VR-gear (that isn't explained at all) doesn't seem to put the players bodies to sleep, since they can hear what's going on around them in the real world, so being trapped in the game seems very unlikely simply because the VR gear wouldn't be able to do that.
Second, we got this supposedly experienced and skilled gamer MC. But he got zero situational awareness, unable to keep his attention on a battle or even dodge a slow enemy, just standing there and getting supprised when he gets wounded. That is what a complete noob does, anyone experienced in fighting know how to dodge an attack, and keep your attention on your opponents around you.
They enter a hidden area at level 3, a place that is good for high level players apparently. The entrance is guarded by lvl 5 noob-monsters, and inside, they manage to survive and succeed easily despite being complete noobs in a area meant for high level players.
At level 7, MC thinks that he is "formidable" despite being a complete noob. Oh, and he doesn't seem to be bothered at all, being trapped in a deadly game and all that. But he decides to get out, because that seems to be the thing he should be doing. By killing the god of that world. Within 3 weeks. That will be spent mostly on traveling, not training or leveling up. Yup. Not shitting you.
Ah yeah, he also chose a solo class. But he decided to party up with people instead of going solo. And when they set out, and hear a scream in the forest, he, the damage dealer, decides to go first to investigate, despite having a tank right behind him. Fucking idiot, you let the tank go first.
This story is filled with stupid and unrealistic stuff like this, there is not even a chance at immersion. The only thing that is alright here is the grammar and writing style, the rest is really really bad. Don't waste your time on this.
