Adventuring in Another World

All of these are the common tropes for a hero adventure in another world. So, where is the throne room with the king offering his daughter in exchange for world peace? Where is the legendary weapon that only I can wield? Where is that mentor that will show me these techniques that only I can learn? Instead I am just out in the middle of nowhere, waking up in a hardwood bed being gazed at by this smelly old man...

Why did I wake up here? Where is the easy life that is often depicted in hero stores? I was to wield a sword and slay dragons, not run from goblins with a broken wooden sword.

Fine! I'll work for that hero title! I'll claim that title, throw me into Insane Hell Mode for all I care.
