Description

There once was a boy that lived in a village with no name in a remote corner of a province in a grand empire. Every villager had their place, and his was a shepherd's. Despite that, or perhaps because of it, the boy was an avid dreamer, yearning for adventure between each book he read.

Decades go by in the blink of an eye and the young boy grows into an old man, yet remains a shepherd, watching his flock live and die in an endless cycle of life.

Yet, the old man dreams on about adventure, never too old to indulge in his delusions.

One fateful night, however, his endless prayer gets answered. Two immortals fall from the sky, and from their corpses, the old man acquires the means to strength in order to adventure.

What does the world have in store for Lao Chen.

A Xianxia with a little twist.

Rated gore and traumatising, potentially triggering. Enjoy!

A really refreshing story with not a self righteous overpowered born-in-a-great-clan mc but instead an old man who gets kinda overpowered and lectures other self-righteous-xianxia-mc types about the kind of shit theyre up to,this is the kind of story in which i wish i could travel ahead in time and binge read this in less than 24 hours non-stop,but since that is obviously not possible (not in 2018 at least) i wish the author would pump out chapters, its really nice

This is a great start (first 6 ch). It is original, fun and the people in it have ethics which is very nice to see in a novel. I hope that the author does not give up and that he/she (probably he) has a great time writing this story.

I'm hooked, that's all I can say. But if you can't write anymore that's fine too. Good luck with your endeavors ☺ lol

Story is dope, one of my favourite reads of all times.
It is a refreshing take on Xianxia, makes you wanna read it more.

This is such a good read. Quite different from other wuxia novels that you might have read.
The protagonist is not like a vengeful spirit on the loose. His actions are driven by reason as he struggles to do the right thing. The story flows smoothly even if the mc does not appear to have a particular goal to strive for.

I am not the biggest xianxia fan, but you go by the tropes and mess them up, and in a decent manner too. Well written, just needs a bit more polish.
    Keep up the good work!

This is very good so far. I like how you made Lao Chen the way you did. In my opinion, there are too many Xianxia storys where the MC is a self righteous prick. Keep it up. I'd like to see where this goes.

What happens when an old man at the end of his life starts cultivating? You get this story. The writing is okay, the story is good and the grammar seems fine. Honestly check it out, it's short and not finished. But it's good for what it is and I hope you read it.

Since this is on hiatus and unlikely to ever be continued... just going to leave a short comment, but really loved the concept, the characters and the adventure.
I do agree that the plot was getting out of hand at the end of the first arc, if you do come back, I'd suggest focusing on some of the characters you've already introduced, the cultivation, maybe some sect feuds or some secret that gets out that they have to cover up... but whatever you do, would be great to see this old dreamer again!

I really like this novel, one of, if not my favourite on this site. I am not some expert reviewer and know all of the terms and shit, yet i know what I like.
    Style.
-Not much to say, unique and nice
    Story
-I like the uniqueness of the characters and the desicion of keeping the protagonist as an old man. However xianxia books and authors are popular for a reason, and I suggest tweaking your story elements as you see fit by using the popular books as templates. I ain't got any examples though, sorry.
    Grammar
-Ain't much to it, keep up The good work.
    Characters
-While i like how none of The villains can beat Lao Chen there will be no character growth if he has no mountains to overcome, physical or mental.
Over all 5/7 very enjoyable story
    PS.
It' good you aren't begging for reviews nyt if you keep a ~4 day break and first things people read is 'please review' it ain't hard to see some drop on numbers
