I'm surprised this story has no reviews yet, considering how well it's written. It is a solid story with interesting characters and structured scenes, and leaves me wanting more.
    Style:
This story takes place in a modern urban fantasy where magic is secret from the general public. While this setting is often overused and has been bled dry, this story stands out among other, blander, Harry Potter-esque contemporaries in its well-written character interactions and relationships.
    Spoiler: Spoiler
I especially liked how Alexie and Kleo's relationship developed. It felt real how anxious they were about being open with each other.
As for the mood, it tends towards a melancholy, slice-of-life feeling with some more dramatic action scenes on occasion. I'm getting Harry Potter vibes from this part the most.
    Story:
Kleo realizes his magical heritage, gets a familiar, and hangs out with his magical and non-magical friends with some action and drama thrown in the mix. With the story's structure as it is, I can easily imagine watching this on t.v. or reading it in comic books. The mini story arcs are straight to the point while still retaining enough drama to be interesting.
I think my biggest worry going forward is that the side characters may suffer from this structure, like how nearly every one-off character in Pokemon is never seen again. Too early to tell, though, so I could be voicing pointless worries.
    Grammar:
Readable and understandable. My biggest complaint is the run on sentences, but there's not too many.
It is also a bit disorienting when Nox shifts from speaking in italics in one chapter to singular quotation marks in the next.
    Characters:
This is why I like this story more than the average urban fantasy. The characters have real motivations. Whether they be romantic, friendly, or greedy, I can see why the characters do what they do, and I especially enjoy seeing how the main three interact.
The side characters have character too, which is a good sign. I hope we ca
