Description
Now that Cire has chosen his path, the Eventide family has a lot of work to get done. What will be the consequences of founding their house? What looming threats lurk over or under the horizon? What will Durg do with all those mushrooms? Don’t worry, things get exciting in a hurry and the ride never stops.
During the Anniversary Challenge I put out a chapter per day, Monday-Friday. Now I have changed to as I can write it release schedule as a goal to finish out the book. I "won" the challenge and made it over 55k last year, in the challenge again for NaNo Wrimo this year.
Series–
Dice rolls, quests, and intriguing characters are only the tip of the spear. TheAdventurerseries includes playable game mechanics, maps, and more!
Thrust into a world governed by tabletop RPG rules, Cire must survive an onslaught of wondrous and horrific challenges. His peculiar race, charismatic personality, and talent for turning negative situations sideways might just be the tools he needs to achieve his goals, or they may lead to his ruin.
First book in the series- Adventurer: Sunrise Over Sunset
Short story prequel- The Lurking Lair: An Adventuer Series Short Story
Author's Note: This is my debut series. Up until this point, the only thing I have written of comparable length has been non-fiction and related to history. I am immensely grateful to all the folks who have given me feedback and helped me improve my writing.

Style Score:
An enjoyable read which maintains decent pacing and interaction throughout the chapters thus far.
Grammar Score:
Well above average for RR. Full marks here. Author is quick to rectify errors which are brought to their attention. Mostly there are words missing a space which has negligible impact on readability.
Story Score:
The story is written from the point of view from our MC Ceri. The action begins straight away in chapter one with him fighting for his life against the elements that he has been abruptly thrown into. The world is slowly revealed to us other the next 10 chapters or so.
Character Score:
One of the issues I had with the previous book was the MC's impulsive decision making. This has been rectified in this next installment. And now the chacters are just perfect.
Tabletop (author) is happy to discuss these character's thought processes and has often modified the story to better suit the consensus reached. This is a rarity on RR and I cannot stress how awesome it is the have meaningful author interaction!
Closing thoughts:
Adventure is a wonderful tale with a unique world filled with interesting believable characters, I highly recommend you give it a try!
p.s reading book 1 first is recommended
here: - Capital StationRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I went into this book without knowing much (as I hadn't read the first) but I was pleasantly surprised to find a well thought out Dungeons and Dragons style adventure.
(After having read some of the first book, everything makes even more sense, lol).
We're following Eric, a man who has found himself in a real-world table-top game, complete with charts and skills. He picks the name Ciresil after having discovered he's a sun elf vampire (which I thought was one of the most clever character combinations ever, lol). Apparently, this makes him like Blade, because this negates a lot of the vampire disadventages (such as not being able to go into the sunlight).
Again, super clever. I'm all for it.
He can also turn into a bat, which is a fun little side ability. Who doesn't love bats?
In book 2, Cire acquires the Chimera's Mane (a territory) and becomes lord of that domain. He gets the last name Eventide (which I have a special connection to) and then heads off for DnD style adventures, including interacting with the nearby Naga civilization.
I don't want to get into too many spoilers, so I'll say this: if you like DnD, you owe it to yourself to check out this series. It's obviously written with passion, dedication, and someone who loves the game just as much as you do.
Also, the clever use of powers, situations, and team dynamics is top notch. I liked the interactions, I enjoyed the journey, and all powers/charts are easy to understand. The author even includes maps. High quality stuff, right here.
Highly reommended.
