Description

One of the subjects, Captain Ben McCoy, finds himself unknowingly dream-travelling between parallel universes. Upon learning of Captain McCoy's singular condition, Dr. Volkov will stop at nothing to understand and replicate the phenomenon.

ok so first of all—this shii SLAPS. like this ain't just a story, it’s a whole-ass cinematic universe birthed out of someone’s sleep-deprived genius brain. we open on some romantic-ass dream sequence with our boi ben mccoy just vibin with the dream milf of his subconscious, only to get smacked in the face with ALASKAN REALITY and boom, he’s in adak for some sus-ass military project. mood whiplash? immaculate.
the pacing? clean. the switch between dreamy fluff and high-stakes science-military-biohacking chaos is chef’s kiss. and ngl, this gave strong “x-men meets inception but on cold meds” vibes. love that for us.
now lemme talk about project heto. yo. this is PEAK sci-fi military black-ops energy. shadowy email invites, sketchy classified tech that lets dudes phase through walls, and scientists just casually cooking up human usb drives. the tech sounds wack af in the best way—like, phase-walking through matter, turning intangible, telekinesis, dream-future-telepathy bs? this ain’t enhancement, this is becoming a whole-ass anime protagonist. and somehow it's all written with zero cringe. bless.
dr. volkov? this man is a MENACE. unhinged, undercooked, overcaffeinated. bro just casually warps the laws of physics and ethics with the same energy as a kid building legos at 3am. also, dude clearly got trauma™ from brighton beach and it’s fueling his entire villain arc. relatable.
and then we got captain brian armstrong—literal mind-reading marine turned shady compound snitch. he's sassy, bitter, and probs one therapy session away from punching volkov in the throat. love his dynamic with everyone—he’s done, he’s over it, and yet he’s still somehow carrying half the exposition like a baddie.
AND SUSAN MINETT. bro. susan is a literal fever dream. she’s hot, smart, slightly tragic, and married (plot twist: to the same guy who's been simping her in dreams since puberty). her whole arc got that bittersweet flavor, like yeah she’s got a daughter and a husband but also she’s deep
