I really like this one. It is veeeery Japanese, but it is not as retarded as the vast majority of light novels. It is edgy and bold. The author said he wants to pace up a little, but I think it is fine, a lot of things happen, actually... well at least in terms of people's relationships. This story is not action heavy, but a lot of anticipation builds up before the confrontations. It is simple and enjoyable, a breeze of fresh air amongst all this "serious" staff in rlrd and neverending spoof comedy attempts.

We follow a student who just wants a break as he enters a school he did not apply for. Delaying gratification, understanding mathematics, and dueling seem to be the focuses of the school, with those who fail to thrive being expelled.
Some have commented that pacing feels slow. Frankly, I think it only seems that way because of short chapters and the serialized format. When I read bursts of chapters together the pacing seemed pretty quick.

Academy of grinding is a captivating web novel that transports readers into a rich, immersive world. The author's masterful storytelling weaves together an intricate plot, compelling characters, and a vividly detailed setting that keeps readers eagerly turning the virtual pages.
The novel follows the journey of Akira, a Young man who was part of the 1st Ideal human project who enrolls in the prestigious Academy which aims to raise the perfect warrior but he just wishes to live a life of normalcy but it is hard when one has the talent to understand the character and thought process of others perfectly and use it to manipulate them and as the complex dynamic within friend group and opposing leaders grows more complicated the story unfolds, readers are drawn into a world filled with different ideologs and physiological warfare and the use of Abilities granted by the Academy in astonishing ways.
One of the novel's greatest strengths lies in its well-developed characters. Each character is uniquely crafted with their own motivations, flaws, and growth, making them feel incredibly real and relatable. The interactions and relationships between the characters add depth and emotional resonance to the narrative.
Furthermore, the world-building in Academy of Grinding is exceptional. The author's attention to detail brings the fantastical realm to life, immersing readers in a place where wonder coexist with danger and intrigue. From the intricacies of the academy to the larger political landscape, the world feels expansive and ripe for exploration.
The pacing of the story is well-executed, maintaining a good balance between intense action sequences and quieter, character-driven moments. The author's prose is engaging and evocative, painting vivid scenes that easily capture the imagination.
Overall, Academy of grinding is a must-read for fans of fantasy web novels. With its compelling narrative, well-drawn characters, and enchanting world, it's a story that will leave readers ea

So it's got a ostart but fleshes out the background of the main character. Seems good Academy story. Not sure we're it will go but  alot of space to flex.
There is alot of dark history that the main poc has to overcome. Not sure if brain washed or just bad nature causing apathetic feelings, would like to see them get some emotions right now they are too logical.
    Give it a read

While some of the characters kinda cringe and the MC's interactions with them are a little confusing, it's still a good story!
Grammer is well done, which is always a plus.
Personally, I really like how the MC is basically a sociopath who's trying to be normal and do right thing.

I really like this novel. Recently I gained an interest in books with idle game aspects and this story is absolutely successful in incorporating such aspects in a good way. The atorz itself is, if not the most unique thing i have ever seen, very interesting and has a mysticism that is, in my opinion, very well balanced. All in all its a well executed space opra story with proficiently incorporated idle game aspects. For everything else its to soon to say

The overall premise of the story is great, very unique. I’m hoping a more in depth explanation about the point system and why it exists in later writings. The MC is a tiny bit bland, most of the time, until you get a peak at what’s underneath. I wish there was a more in depth explanation about the robotic attitude/reactions which could make the MC more bearable. I’d love to see more into the point system on the phone. Is it always going to be on a phone? Or will there be tablets and/or computers added in?  Are the minions going to be more involved than they are? Well either way, I did enjoy the story, it did drag a bit, but it wasn’t uninteresting.

So I have enjoyed this story so far. It is a slightly dystopian seemingly school based story that reminds me of medaka box.
For style there is a lot to say. It’s always from a limited viewpoint where we get most of the details through internal narration by various characters. If you enjoy puzzling together reality from multiple unreliable narrators it’s excellent (I happen to like this) if you don’t then it’s not gonna be a great time. It’s slow paced which I like but for the pace I feel like we maybe don’t get quite as many details as we should which is frustrating.
For story, I rated it high as it succeeds in making me invested in the mystery and plot
The grammer seemed fine. Nothing super horrendous as far I can tell.
Characters in this do seem to be fairly fleshed out, however because the majority of the characters dislike each other sometimes the interactions seem a bit flat or lacking purpose as we don’t have the backstory needed to contextualize the events.
Overall it’s a solidly decent book, with a lot of promise to be really good with a bit of polish.

(English is not my native language, so please excuse all mistakes or odd phrasings. If a choice of words sounds mean, it is not meant that way, but probably a wrong pick from the dictionary.)
I have been a "guest reader" on RR for many months, silently following several stories. I rarely log in, even after creating my account. However, after enjoying many stories, I felt that it is time to give back - by commenting and writing reviews. I will gradually review all the stories that I read within the last months; and this is the first.
Throughout the chapters, the author has asked for high star reviews several times. I hope, dear author, that you can take this review not as an act against your wishes, but as an honest critique and insight into the mind of one singular reader. In the end, all I say is just my subjective perspective, nothing more. I hope it helps to see how a reader understands your story.
    HOW I RATE
There are books that I love, such as Lord of the Rings. These would, if reviewed, get 5 stars all around. However, I do not take them as a "reference" for my ratings here, meaning, I do not give less stars because a story is "not like my favourite". In teh same way, 5 stars do not mean a story is "just as good as my favourite".
I read a story and then evaluate and analyse it. I weight the potential of said story - what it could be - against the actual exectution. In short, I rate the story in itself, judging great aspects and flaws without impacting this rating by comparing the story to something else.

This one just was boring. The MC is a passive, semi emotionless character who just sits around half the time. It seems like the story is building up to a big reveal to why he's like that, but in 40 chapters it hasn't given a proper explanation.
Even if it did, it wouldn't resolve the issue.
As for the litrpg/idle stuff: also boring. There certainly seems to be some idle stuff going on in the background. We're told about it a lot. But it has basically no effect on the plot so far, at all. There's some fighting that's alright, but it's short when it comes up.
Just not worth reading further if you find the first couple chapters boring, it doesn't get more exciting.
