- Lionheart1331Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very fun story so far! Good characters and a nonstandard path of progression for the MC. Seems like the author has a good plan so I'm hoping this one stays active!
Saw a review for an earlier chapter and I wanted to note, this is not an underpowered MC at all, although the power growth is slightly delayed. Although if you prefer murder hobo this isn't your scene probably - iwriteandeatyuriRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Interesting story. Ben has a good backstory and fits perfectly as the kind and usual protagonist of reincarnation stories. The moment when he saves the little girl shows his kind heart, his fighting spirit and his wish to never give up. His conversation with God is unique and his knowledge is vast for the Naruto World. It is an enjoyable and short read and I would recommend it to anime nerds and reincarnation fans such as me
- League of readerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A World Away opens with an unassuming protagonist, Ben, whose everyday life takes a dramatic turn during a selfless act on Christmas. The emotional weight of his decision to save a young girl sets a strong tone for the novel and grounds the story in a sense of sacrifice and morality. The scene is intense and surprisingly poignant, capturing a rare moment of heroism from an otherwise average man.
What follows is a transition into the familiar yet still engaging reincarnation setup. Meeting with a divine entity and being offered five wishes isn't new territory, but the execution here feels earnest. Ben’s choice to limit his power for the sake of emotional connection and balance gives his character depth and a sense of restraint that’s often missing in power fantasy stories. His reincarnation into the Naruto universe as Ben Uchiha opens the door for intriguing plot possibilities, especially for fans who enjoy alternate universe takes on popular series.
While the premise treads familiar ground, the story’s emotional hook and character-driven reasoning help it stand out. A World Away shows promise with its blend of heart, fantasy, and fan-driven creativity, offering a solid start to what could be an engaging journey.
Sad only prologue. - argusthecatRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I like this so far, for a number of reasons.
The characters instantly feel comfortable, and have a kind of humanity to them that we don't see too often in litRPGs like this. The interactions of a family that cares about each other, together for the last days of Earth, feel genuine and emotional. And the protagonist having agency from the very start makes me feel more of a connection to his upcoming adventures.
I'm notoriously a sucker for characters that have compassion and ethics, and our dude has both going for him, which makes me instantly want to read more of the story just to hang out with a character who I feel for. I look forward to seeing more of this in the future, and I hope it goes to some interesting places. - darkhessianRoyal Road★★ 1.5MC is a moron. He refused xp from an indirect kill 50 levels above him. He manages to have abilities that need a bunch of mana while also burning out his mana storage. He had huge mana storage and no ability to generate it before the planet accidentally kills him repeatedly.
The sister's story might be a typical system story if the brother shit show wasn't interrupting. The brother might have been interesting if he had not been completely neutered in the beginning. As of chapter 3 he is only useful as kindling.
