Now she has to decide what kind of person she wants to be. Safely hide amongst the people who would stone her if they knew the truth about her, or make something more of herself and push back against a cruel world that hates her through no fault of her own?

Little does she know, behind it all lies an even darker secret.

The intro chapter is so good, I was constantly curious what was going to happen next.  I loved the killer shroud magic that Iveriani used, but also that she isn't some perfect super confident character right away.  Cant wait to read some more magical beat downs, and see what happens when Iveriani gets more control and confidence.

I jumped into this book and was immediately hooked. It starts in the middle of what seems like a routine burgurly with what seems like a regular band of teen thieves. However the Authors descriptions of the environment are excellent and you get immediately transported to the place. I'm not sure if the author is British, but the little descriptors and turns of phrase really make you feel like your in an english slum. It's all very vivid!
There's a moment where things change for the MC, and that careful attention to detail from the scene setting persits and does a really magnificent job of explaining what that change is like. For the duration, I felt like I was truly looking at the world like she described it.
Finally, literally to the second, I was begging a question about the MC and the new character about why they were each doing what they were doing. At that exact moment the author addresses it. It doesn't give you the answer, but addresses the question and satisfies the begging question while promising more info later.
It's only two chapters, though they are substantial, but this is a work to keep on your radar just based on the author's ability to conjure environments. Too early to really comment on the MC and the likely main supporting character, but there's certainly enough to go on.
I think the only recommendation I'd have, and this has nothing to do with the story, is to break it up into more chapters. RR seems to favour shorter punchier stories even if something makes sense as one long chapter.
Great work, can't wait to read more about Ivy! (I love a good shortname for a character)

What strikes me most about this series is how believable the portrayal of events are. As unpleasant as the situations the MC finds herself in, they have a gritty and confronting realism that amps up the tension without artificially inflating it through tired tropes.
I also appreciated the descriptions of the environment and characters. Very interesting details that helped with the grungyness in the early chapters.

this story luckily doesn't suffer from the shortcomings of other simialir stories, throwing the reader into an action-packed introduction to the world. I can't say I hated that detail. When paired with an premise that isn't too bad and a grammar that fits into the higher legions of this site, I can safely say I recommend it.

Story 5/5: The story drops the reader in the thick of things from the beginning. When done correctly, it makes for an amazing reading experience, and in my opinion, Casey has done it correctly.
Style 5/5: The story is unapologetically fast-paced, and the author builds a lot of tension with their writing. The author also does a wonderful job of bringing the world to life without over describing the world. They found a good groove and have applied it throughout their work.
Grammar 5/5: I did not find any grammatical errors. The work seemed cleanly edited with the feeling of a traditionally published book.
Character 4.5/5: Ivy is a relatable MC and has been a treat to watch grow. The rest of the cast, so far, is well-thought-out and has their distinct voices. From what I have so far, I think my favorite side character is Rose.
Overall 5/5: A Witch’s World is a well-written and well-paced story set in an interesting world full of tension.
Casey does an excellent job with the world-building and the dialogue, making the world feel alive, mysterious, and dangerous. I followed it to catch up with the story and keep up with it as it progresses, and so should you.

A story that starts fast and hooks you from the first chapter.
STYLE: It is a well narrated story. With nice descriptions that manage to envelop the reader in the world and what surrounds the protagonist, without being too exhausting with unnecessary descriptions. Even when there is a time jump, the author manages to keep the story flowing smoothly.
STORY: I'm not one to read this type of story, so I enjoyed the world the author presents us with. The reality of witches and the fact that the main character is one.... And that she will have to get involved in difficulties that she is just beginning to understand. The eminent tension surrounding the survival of the story hooks.
CHARACTER: I liked the protagonist Ivy and she managed to take my sympathy for what happened to her from the start. She is a young protagonist, who after an event her life changes and she has to face the fear of the unknown and what it means to be a witch.
GRAMMAR: I have nothing to say. It was an understandable story and I didn't see any mistakes.
I liked the story. The tension about what will happen to the main character mixed with the calmness that always gives the feeling that it will disappear quickly, I liked it a lot.

This is so much fun! Ivy is immediately sympathetic, and in immediate peril. Her interactions with her crew make me care about her, because they care about her. The way another character sacrifices for her raises the stakes and the impact super effectively.
First, I love how the author uses Ivy's doubts to ratchet up the tension. We just know that everything's going to hell!
The fact that she'd rather die that become a witch even though it just saved her is v. good worldbuilding, too. Really shows the reader how the people of the world fear/hate witches. And writing one of the murderous thugs as almost sympathetic (not that we ever think he'll actually help her) actually makes her plight worse, too, because it makes it more real. Very nicely done.

I found myself immediately caring for the MC's well being in this story. Ivy's character and the author's descriptive abilities are engaging in such a way that I was hooked in the turmoil surrounding her initial struggles, and I was excited to discover what power she would develop to overcome them.
Nightmares are real! Ivy certainly is living in a nightmare. It felt much like a nightmare that a lot of people have and I was very interested in how the author would save the MC in the nightmare compared to how I would want the MC saved.
I'm wondering if any magical devices will come into play to help Ivy. At this point in the reading of this story for me (chapter 12), she is still struggling to determine what ability she has.
Nice easy and engaging read! Can't wait until I jump back into the author's witchy world again.

Story: Amazing start as we get right into the action. The pacing is fast enough that the story moves along without feeling rushed. The author creates memorable dialogue between characters that really gives the feel of the relationship.
Character: Some of the early scenes of Ivy really made me feel for her as the struggles she went through. Her pain felt real as she was trying to figure out her newfound power while also desperately trying to survive.
There is a human element to Ivy that makes you root for her. I love some of her little quirks that show she isn't just a witch trying to fit in, but a real person. I love a comfy couch too. Interested to see her continued growth as the story progresses.
The other witch, Rose, gets close to Ivy very quickly and I can almost feel the over bearing big sister vibes. Their relationship as sister -witches developed quickly and is endearing and sometimes annoying.
Grammar: clean, easy to read and allows the reader to focus on the story. Nothing pulled me out of the immersion. Great proof reading.
Style: Witch's World is a character driven story that focuses a lot on Ivy's internal dialogue, but also can paint a vivid picture of the world when describing a particular scene.

Enjoy the author's ability to engage the reader right away. Easy read with vivid imagery. I think the author also has a knack for developing the characters in a short period of time, and also leaves the reader wanting more. The main character(s) development is apparent right away, which appeals to me as a reader.
I also believe as a reader I need to care about the characters and I think the author makes this easy for me to do.
The storyline gets right to work! I like that the author gets the reader involved right away, and engages you into the world he/she invisions. Fantasy should be just that... Fantasy! A break from reality, engaging, vivid and exciting, and sometimes dangerous and gritty. A Witch's World does just that...
