Description
When the Veil is torn, the toll of the seven bells will mark the beginning of the end. The Otherworld looms ever closer, the Golden Sands burn ever brighter, and the Old Gods have forsaken us – so has declared the Vermillion Witch.

- BaininRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style:
The style is very smooth. I liked it a lot; the only thing I would complain about is the chronology due to the prologue. It felt a bit out of place. It was very well-written and action-rich, but it felt a bit out of place to me as if I had read chapter 36 before I had read chapter 1. Other than that, the perspective was consistent and not too hard to follow. And I won't deduct it from the score because of the prologue, as the style is very good overall.
Grammar:
Besides the occasional missing word, I did not spot many issues, though my grammar isn't the best either, so I might have missed a lot of it. It did not disturb the flow or my enjoyment of the story, so it's good in my book.
Story:
I want to preface this by stating that I typically do not gravitate towards school-themed stories. However, what I have read so far has been quite enjoyable. Nonetheless, certain elements raised questions for me. For example, the presence of only four students in the Practical Combat and Strategy class struck me as peculiar, especially given the school's prestige. Additionally, inconsistencies/plot devices such as the mishap with the airship professionals. I also did not enjoy Soraya. She does not strike me as a good instructor, though that might be biased as I have some experience in that field. It almost gave the impression of a dilapidated establishment, though perhaps this was intentional.
Other than that, the story introduced a good amount of lore and intriguing plot devices at a good pace, such as the weapon gems and the vail, which present an interesting approach to magic. However, I have not progressed far enough into the story to fully grasp its depth.
Characters:
The characters were distinct, with their own goals, motivations, and personalities. I have not yet had enough time with them to get the full idea. They struck me as consistent so far, and I did not spot any big, bothersome stereotypes either. - CorasRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Dweia keeps writing books that you just cannot dare stop reading.
This time with a world that has great mixes of magic and might, personal growth accompanying the characters' bond, a world-building that is well thought out and makes you crave more, "A Veil Between Worlds" is a definite must-read from the author.
Hope more chapters comes along quickly! - FlokistarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Just as the title said. The thing that drew me to this story the most was the author's ability to paint vivid images of the surroundings and how the characters feel just by their body language.
Style: the story is in the third person pov which is my favorite, so that's already a plus. The sentences are descriptive and easy to read.
Character: each of them had a voice and personality of his own. They wouldn't just suck up to the mc for no reason, which kept me invested as that is one of my pet peeves. Fortunately, the author didn't fall into such a trap, for now.
Story: damn cliffhanger. Well, chapter 1 showed the disaster that the main cast had to face in the future, but failed to stop. Did they die? Who knows, damn cliff.
But the story is interesting, with its fair share of history and world-building. The author clearly spent a lot of time outlining everything and paid attention to details.
Grammar: no issues that break immersion. The author spent a lot of time editing the chapters before posting them. And he would fix errors once pointed.
Overall, I think the story had potential to be one of popular stories. - Gabriel SandorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0"A Veil Between Worlds" is a progression fantasy book. It is like a fantasy rollercoaster, mixing magic and mayhem. Story is about this guy, Midhir and his friends who are figuring out life at a military academy when things go wild. Imagine "Bloodborne" meeting "The Wheel of Time" and you put some cold steel in there. it's got that vibe ! The crew Midhir hangs with is small but they intimately connected, and the story's more about their personal growth rather than leveling up with stats or skills like in the litRPGs. The world-building is legit, detailed but not like a boring info dump. It's a solid pick for fantasy fans into deep characters and worlds with a twist.
Book grammatically pretty good, i didn't see any critical errors, in fact i didn't see any :D
I loved the characters and their relationship between. They are well thought out.
Story progression is well paced, i wish there are more to read.
The style combines immersive world-building with a focus on character depth, creating a narrative richly detailed.

FrenchRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style: The writing style makes for an immersive and thrilling read. I enjoyed the prose and found it to have a great balance of exposition and dialogue. Both complimented one another well. The writing is lovely and the descriptions very well done, but never slows the pace of the story. It was easy for me to picture the action sequences and the setting. Overall, it is written with a great style.
Story: The book opens with a cliffhanger that raises the stakes so incredibly high. As I was reading the story of Midhir and his friends, even the more peaceful scenes still carried an air of tension because of the opener, which I think is a great thing. The academy setting with the robust cast makes for a compelling read while the detailed fight scenes keep engagement high. The worldbuilding is also very well done. The story is great!
Grammar: No issues with grammar.
Character: The characters are my favorite part of the book. I loved the relationships and the interactions, especially with how they all challenge one another to grow. Everyone feels very fleshed out and realistic. While the plot in the opening hooked me, the characters pulled me deeply in.
Overall, this is a wonderful read that I highly recommend! It's very well done and it's clear to see there are very exciting and intense chapters ahead. - Lucian T. The book follows the journey of Midhir and his friends as they navigate the prestigious Solus Military Academy and face otherworldly threats. The worldbuilding is detailed and well done, and the fight scenes are vividly described. The characters are the true highlight of the book, with their relationships and interactions driving the story forward.
Style: The writing style is immersive and thrilling, with a perfect balance of exposition and dialogue. The author's prose is lovely, and the descriptions are well done without slowing down the pace of the story. The action sequences and setting come to life, making it easy for readers to picture the scenes. The worldbuilding is seamlessly integrated into the narrative, avoiding info dumps and allowing readers to learn about the world naturally.

I think the author has done a good job at balancing between conciseness while also providing descriptive details of the scenes and actions being done. The pacing and flow is also well executed, creating for an easy-to-follow reading experience.
Grammar: Mostly strong and fine, besides a few minor oddities and quirks here and there, but hardly any of them would be noticeable to average readers.
Story: The actual story, as in plot, was somewhat not my cup of tea (albeit, I can be fairly picky with my tea), but nevertheless, I found it to be very interesting and engaging; it kept my attention alive and made me want to read more; indeed, it was a fairly tasty cup of tea.
It is a military, academy, and fantasy oriented story, but has a lot of mystery elements to it. There is also action and I found the action to be well written, especially since I felt like the author actually had some knowledge behind the advantages and disadvantages of the weapons in question, making the writing feel realistic.
I'm a worldbuilder, so my brain focused most on the worldbuilding rather than the actual plot, and I would say author has excelled in the worldbuilding aspects; it is clear that they have put a lot of thought into it. The world felt alive and lived in, not just something that existed around the characters, rather it felt like the characters were part of a greater world. I found the technology, in particular, to be interesting (fantasy powered airships are cool). The worldbuilding is integrated with the overall story, and there are hardly any blunt expositions at all (at least so far); I felt that the reader learns about the setting alongside the characters.
Characters: The story follows a small cast of a few main characters, with one being the more principal character. From what I have read so far, I think the author has done an effective job at managing them and making them feel real (and interesting). The dia - One Way JusticeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story: Thrown right into the thick of the action, we follow Midhir, a skilful young warrior who is supposed to simply be learning his trade in a high-ranking military academy... but instead we see him fight for his life in the field of battle. So, although the plot does pick up straight away, there are slow burn elements as well, leaving room for worldbuilding and character introductions—our MC is aided by a girl with an elfish name and healing powers. Magic and melee prowess join forces, and the cast have to keep their wits about them at all times—strategy is the key to survival; magical powers alone do not suffice. This is in all honesty a captivating read that should get way more views than it is getting currently!!
Characters: Midhir is young, but already has the personality traits of a budding hero-type, being resilient in the face of constant danger and morally inclined—the lives of others are not mere throwaway things. His warrior side has a softer counterpart—this part of him is explored in his interactions with the quick-witted healer girl. And there is a scheming antagonist as well, mysterious so far in appearance and motives... both to be unveiled shortly, I am sure.
Style: A good, competently written work with decent prose throughout. Again: deserves more attention than is the case at present.
Grammar: Solid. A clean, well-edited text. - SenTheSenselessRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I honestly really like the story so far.
It starts off with a really detailed and intense fight that drew me into the story, then punched me with a cliffhanger and transported me 6 months before the events in the prologue. SNEEKY AUTHOR! LMAO!
Story – 5/5 Im a fukin sucker for military stories of all forms. It's always such a cool setting to read/write about, and from what I've seen so far, the author did a great job of conveying how everything works. I liked the power system and the concept of crystals, too. I can't wait to read and learn more about it.
Style– 5/5 The way the author writes is like butter. Everything is so detailed that you can picture it in your mind flawlessly, yet you don't get bored of it and wish it would be over. I'm very fond of this writing style, and it's not boring to read. I feel like many books miss the mark on that crucial component. It's either too detailed and is a chore to read, or it feels like you're reading a script.
My only thought was that sometimes the words would get slightly repetitive and be reused in too many sentences. Other than that, it's amazing.
Character score– 5/5 Nothing too much to say here but.... I really liked the characters. LOL. They all seem real and flushed out; their interactions are very natural, and how they meet is also great. Looking forward to learning more about the MC and the other characters.
Grammar– 4/5 Nothing really too bad, just a couple of grammatical & syntax mistakes; for example, when someone is talking, its–
"Hey, get out of there." He said.
The correct usage is–
"Hey, get out of here," he said.
If you follow it up with a dialogue tag, there should be a comma at the end of the sentence. :) The other errors aren't as noticeable, but other than that, it's really well done!
Give this novel a try! - morphiwritesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall - Great story with a compelling hook, strong characters and thorough world-building.
Style - The author has a distinct writing style that combines a strong prose with well planned and executed action scenes. The descriptions are vivid and leave much room for the reader to add their own imagination. The world building starts early and shows a great depth waiting to be revealed. The action scenes are tight and concise, the climax hits hard and heavy.
Story - Compelling twist early on that settles in to an academy setting story. Well done mix of exposition and action. Another reviewer mentions that they got a dark souls vibe and I completely agree.
Characters - Very well written characters far exceeding the average RR novel. Each character feels real and conversations flow well between them. Interested in which direction the author will take the main character as there are moments where the MC feels overshadowed. My feeling is that is intentional and building to a point later in the story.
Grammar - No real mistakes in the grammar department. A few repeated phrases and descriptions but nothing that detracts from the overall story. Skilled author that clearly puts work into editing before posting.
Overall - Excellent story and I cant wait to see where it goes!
