    The story is beginning, and while I was lured by the short story tag, this has the set up for a litrpg-like climb with these two chapters. As when it comes to editing, this could use a copyedit because it is rough. Replace the numbers (2) with 'two' and be mindful of commas. The narration is a bland, and the details of the lay of the land was a bit excessive, but this is a pretty good start. It just drops the hook and then moves on in a way that was too short to really set the reader before whisking Mike away.
