Description
It's been nearly 20 years since the Virus first appeared, coming from nowhere and bringing humanity to the brink of annihilation. Once, there were ten heroes who rose up to fight the Virus, sacrificing their lives and souls to save just four human cities. But many of those heroes are dead now, and those that remain are scarred and broken, while the Virus continues its relentless rampage. Survival is a daily struggle, and humanity clings to the fractured remnants of a society constantly teetering on the edge of collapse.
On the eve of her 18th birthday, Evie Ivans has spent her life dreaming of joining the fight against the Virus that altered her destiny before she was even born. Desperate to learn the truth about her parents and enlist in the army, she embarks on a dangerous journey from Richmond to Fort Washington. But the capital is not what she expected and she finds as much danger inside the walls as she does beyond them. Caught between the fort's internal struggles, the ever-present threat of total destruction, and a rising darkness, Evie must navigate her emerging abilities and unravel the mysteries of her past to become the hero humanity desperately needs.

- excal101Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0great story with intriguing characters that are explored through different POVs . Each chapter felt like even more of an immersion into the world. The class based system doesn't feel forced and highlights the differences between each person. Excited to keep on reading this new and unique book. The levelling and class system keeps the strengths/experience clear
