Solomon (not his legal name) had been a stage magician in the good ol' US of A. Funny story, he got shot, died, maybe, it's hard to say, but where he ended up... he realized something. There was magic here, not the sleight of hand he knew, but real honest-to-God magic, and he would have it all.

This is a strange fic. The premise is unlike anything I have seen in a Got fanfic, or fanfic in general. Strange doesn’t mean bad though. The author is very competent, and while some characters may act OOC when sex is involved, I enjoy the story enough to gloss over it. Solomon is great and I’ve lost track of his many, many, many schemes.

I really like how the author adds magic to the world through the protagonist as a sort of "rasputin" like figure which manipulates the lordly houses of Westeros. The writing is really good with the characters in ASOIAF being written (at least in my opinion) in a way which resembles how they act in the original story. The story itself is incredibly compelling and just pulls you in.
10/10, perfect story.

It surprised me with how good it is , i didn't have much expections going in , but with the first chapter and I was hooked
The writing is top notch, not that of a beginner at all, i liked how the narrative changes with each chapter to capture what every character thinks , the story don't feel like another power fantasy dress in game of thrones clothes, it feels like a very well thought and structured story because it's
With only the 9 chapters It manages to take its place as one of the top three game of thrones fanfiction, if not the top ten for fanfics in general. For me, of course, I doubt you will find better stories in terms of storytelling, grammar, and logical story development , in this fandom, the golden lion comes close but it toke more time to get the story going
Additionally, i think a fundamental element in making a reader like your story or even love it is the characters, and one think this story does right among others is giving its characters their rights , it doesn't make them stupid or weak to make the protagonist appears beter in any way , all of that while at the at the same time making a good main character (I don't mean morals-wise)
And it did the original work right as well, how? You might ask , I'll tell you : a fanfiction does its original work right by taking what people liked about it and extant it , add to it , or viewing it from a different angle , for example
A one piece fan fiction shouldn't be about politics ar religion sense the original work doesn't fucas on these topics therefore its audience doesn't expect these themes in a work based on it , but a fanfic about a A marine recruit would be more suitable for the general atmosphere of the original work in this case One Piece, even if he is not a pirate he is still closely related to the atmosphere of the original work.
So when you write a fanfic of medieval politics with a small magic elements , people expect to see that , not comedy , not a gamer system bullshit , not some op charact
