Description
The Infinity Stones are not to be wielded lightly, as Steve Rogers discovers when he washes up on the shores of Westeros. In a world of swords and spears, what difference can one shield make? Follow Steve as he makes his way across Planetos, starting in Westeros just before Robert's Rebellion. You can expect wandering knight adventures, Steve doing Steve things when faced with injustice, and the inevitable consequences of setting a super soldier loose on a medieval battlefield. Themes in this fiction: equality, right makes might, the difference one man can make, uplifting people and culture rather than technology.

- Jorkin McCronkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The way Steve Rogers, Lord America, interacts with the people of Westeros is always very interesting. The differences in culture adds a lot to the story. And while I’m less familiar with Aery’s reign than with it’s consequence, from the show, his active role in events make him a great protagonist. Can’t wait for the Underground Railroad/Drums of Liberation arc, makes me wonder if it’s how he becomes worthy of… :)
- Kid WickedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like that Steve had to learn the language and that it wasn't just straight-up english, and that his background in being an artist was utlilized in this. It was shown a bit in the MCU, but never addressed on what he did for a job before he became Captain America. And I love how he's just Lord America now. If the others do find him at all. I can't wait for what Tony or Bucky would say. All in all. I'm loving it so far. Can't wait for new chapters to come.
- HedincoolRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Disclaimer: This is my first review, so I apologise if I just ramble.
I immediately fell in love with the story and finished it in one sitting, the story illustrates all the best traits of Captain America without making him annoying or 1-dimensional.
The characters are extremely interesting, without the story being driven by them.
I disagree quite a lot with how the author publishes his story (Deciding which story to write from a poll on his patreon), but I guess it's worked for him so far, so I can't judge. - ImATreeBelieveMeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story accompanies Steve Rogers, his newfound friends and more as they travel across Westeros and occasionally Essos, kicking ass and taking names.I wasn't too sure about this story, not being much of a Marvel fan, but the combo works extremely well. There's all the grit you'd expect from ASOIAF, but it's tempered by having Rogers as an audience stand-in to punt the most deplorable bastards into a nearby wall or tree, so it's less miserable and more cathartic.Captain America is like 90% Idealism and American propaganda by weight, but far away from his homeland that just turns him into someone who actually stands for the US' nominal values and has the power to enforce that, which makes it a lot more fun than when there's a real US around for him to be idealistic about. If you like GoT for the grit and setting but not necessarily the suffering, this will probably be for you. There's interesting characters, politicking, grand gorey battles and a bit of romance, all very well written. You'll not regret checking it out.
- ConquerorOfTheStarsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Without any shred of doubt, I believe this fanfiction is probably a top three read of all time I've had on the site. The author understands the characters being crossed over as well as the world that he is writing about. There's also several notable times I noticed "GRRM-isms" being used which seems to me that the author did his homework heavily when it comes to ensuring the fanfiction not only reads like a good story of Captain America going to Westeros, but also feels 'authentic'.
- CutSliceChopDiceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0When I read that this story is a fan fiction of Captain America in Game of Thrones, I was morbidly curious. I mean there's no way this comes out well right?
Wrong.
I'm not gonna write a long-winded breakdown review, just know that this is pretty entertaining story and definitely worth the time to read. - DnojRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Absolutely incredible story, and masterfully integrating two titanic franchises with professional skill and passion. Who would have taught that mixing Captain America and Game of Thrones would work so well? There are times when I even forget this is a fan fiction. It's just that good.
I'll be honest, there was some concern of this being a cringefest isekai power fantasy fan fic. I'm happy to say that I was worried over nothing. This is definitely a power fantasy - Cap's the only super soldier in a medieval world - but nothing about it is cringeworthy. The world continues to move, and while Steve may have a hand in the events, he doesn't dictate them. And I LOVE it! It feels like a living, breathing world.
And not to mention the characters - the canon characters were depicted well, and the OCs fit right into world.
This story is just so amazing and I can't wait for more! - Chronically SpookedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm not a particularly big fan of either game of thrones or captain america but this fanfic has blended them into a fun read. Recommended if you'd like GoT with a large injection of hope into it or Captain America navigate a feudal world, righting wrongs and squirming out of being referred to with a title at every possible opportunity.
- Combat LibrarianRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I do not normally read much fan-fiction, but this is an exception. I give it an overall five stars for an excellent storyline and faithful depiction of Captain America in a wildly different setting from the original material.Style: I dinged the author slightly on style, because it does start out a little rough. It seems a bit formulaic, and does not flow very well at the beginning. That being said, it quickly improves. In recent chapters I have not seen any of the choppiness I noticed earlier on.Grammar: Again, I dinged the author a little in this category, as there are occasional errors in spelling, word choice, and sentence construction. Still, those errors are rare and minor. The writing is better than ninety-nine percent of stories I have read on this site from a technical perspective.Story: I give this fiction full marks for the storyline. In some ways it has a bit of a slice-of-life feel to it, but interspersed with satisfying action scenes and incorporated into an epic storyline with room for even more plot points at every turn.Character: I will admit, I am mainly basing this aspect of my review on the characterization of Steve Rogers in this setting. It leans into some aspects of the character that the movies reference, but don't have the space to really explore. He sketches. He puts on different "public affairs" inspired facial expressions to deal with uncomfortable social situations. He tries to do the right thing in a world where that is normally a laughable notion. It is a nice change of pace from some of the grimdark out there, and it brings a little joy with every new chapter. In short, give it a try!
- KiddZaggRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Holy moly is this great, I've been telling my cousin all about it and he started reading it as well.
Well paced, well thought out, and well executed,
If not for copy right I could see this selling it's so dang good.
You will not be disappointed in this and his other work about thor in warhammer (thorhammer) is good, though id say 3.5 as apposed to the 5 I'm giving
