- Dream45Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0i like the MC sadly we got the people that tried to put you down, if they don’t like it don’t read it simple as that don’t bitch about it
- OrangeShirt09Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I don't usually write these types of reviews. However, this fiction has been very enjoyable and I saw absurdly low reviews. Why the hate? Thus far the book has been imaginative and interesting. There has been a lot more world building than actual character development, but I am sure that will begin as we move forward. Stop the hate and write a better review if you appreciate this writer.
- OpCrystalRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall I really like where this story is going, too many VRMMO's try to get real nitty gritty with their plots; those stories are all either a one man power trip, a dark tale with betrayal and power struggles, political or otherwise, or the MC unveils this deep plot where the game is more than it seems and the creators are playing god yada yada. So it's nice to see that this game seems to be actually fun, the NPC's seem real enough without going full Skynet sentient AI, yet neither do they just repeat the same preprogrammed lines repeatedly. There are a few grips I have, but honestly, they are probably more of a personal opinion on my part rather than mistakes, but I figure I put my cards on the table anyway.
There are 100 interesting characters who each seem to have their own quirks and personalities, and backstories, and that's nice. It's all 100 people I have to remember, not to mention you are also including a bit of RL POV's so each character presumably has 2 different names, and then the silly nicknames Joat gives everyone because he is worse at names than I am. So that's a theoretical 300 names, I would need to start up Excel while reading or something, I'm starting to have trouble already with only about 10-20 people introduced so far. You also seem to be preparing pretty heavily for something in the future, so often you just info dump a bunch of characters and leave them there like sleeper agents, or so it seems to me at least. So when I'm reading and a different POV comes up with someone new, I find myself wondering all through the POV if this person is important at all and if I should make note to remember all of this or if it's just a bit of fluff for the fun of it.
Joat the Social Butterfly. He confuses me, he appears to have absolutely no interest in making friends with 100 different people, and yet he is actively trying to make friends with said 100 different people. He go on in the beginning about how he really just isn't cut out for leadership, and - AnubbiskRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5While there is the plot hole of improvised weapons that in reality are easy to make the characters are pure genius.
TrueNord's grammar is very good and even though i have english as my first language i couldn't find and problems with the grammar.
the writing style has no major problems except the dialogue doesn't seem real. but making the dialogue seem real is an extremely difficult thing to do correctly even professionals have trouble with it.
and i still cant get over how perfect the characters are and if i could i would have given him a 6/5 on characters - SpecularRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Ok so first off I want to say that this is relatively original compared to some other VRMMO stories out there.
However it's not for me because (beware spoilers):
-All the characters feel weird, the dialogues sound artificial. And because none of them is human and the races are quite varied but mostly beastmen, it feels like the story happens in some sort of awkward furry convention.
-The story keeps revolving around sexuality, in an immature way. Not only the MC, but actually all the male characters behave like horny teenagers. For instance, there is a running gag where the MC keeps losing HPs from nosebleeds when he sees boobs jiggling as girls walk/run.
-The girls/women are written very poorly. At first they are described as being afraid of mice and unwilling to harm bunnies (and dependent on men), but quickly they turn to psychos, breaking arms and snapping necks, and they end up as haugthy and overbearing, easily overpowering the MC, who becomes dependent on them.
On that note, for some reason that is handwaved in the beginning, the MC has decided to keep 9 of his stat slots empty, so he only has "Perception" as a stat, even when it becomes obvious that some basic stats like strength and agility are sorely needed to take part in any sort of combat (and would be boosting 75% of the skills he's getting). I'm guessing that this is because he'll be getting some OP stats later on and they'll make up for it, but in the meantime it doesn't make any sense unless the MC is reading the author's mind. I mean, if he was going to keep his slots open then why choose to take Perception ? It's not that useful and actually makes him see 50% worse in the daylight because it unlocked master-level nightvision.
-The men are castrated and facepalm-worthy in their interactions with women. The MC... it's like someone took a fedora-wearing-m'lady-neckbeard raised by a feminazi single mom and put him in the body of a hobgoblin at a furry convention.
For contrast, the author made some ant - whomightub3Royal Road★★★ 3.0The story was progressing, until it wasn't. The author's interest in the main mc dries up pretty quick and the whole thing devolves into ultra brutal cartoon violence. The 'leveling through skill alone' concept is pretty good, but as an Idea on its own does not hold water very well. Maybe as an educational tool?
- DarkCarnageRoyal Road★★★ 3.0i like ti so far, and i can not say i not be a skill whore either i tend to lvl up anything i can to the max allowed ^^
- PulzerRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Trust me when i say that i loved this novel it made me smile every time then, this was a good novel its still good but not so much now for me anyways.
What i wanted to say was something changed, it became different from what it was.
After You came back from hiatus the story changed mostly characters surrounding Joat, Its like you rewrote the story but kept the old one,now im not saying it became bad but for me it downgraded but thats just me (Maybe).
For me this novel was an A grade comedy it was great a novel that made me laugh, but now now it became kinda i dunno ok maybe ?, in comedy you are great man from chapter one till the goblin arc those were the moment it shone.
Man im not here to say go back to the old ways or something im just here to tell you my opinion alright this novel is awsome i just wanted to say my piece my only suggestion is choose your main genre and stick with it. - SlashhRoyal Road★★★ 3.0interesting, and got some potential. But I kinda have to admit that what makes me try to read this is the AR mentioned in the description. But what i get is just the same VR setting. Now, what's the difference between Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR)?
Augmented Reality takes place in the real world, which augmented / enhanced with other elements. In this setting, the story should takes place in the real world, with no time dillation, no dive related equipment which is used to go into some simulated word which is a Virtual Reality. An example of AR that we have now is the mic***soft ho**lens (or many AR related apps in smartphones). Also the closest thing we have to VR right now would be the oc**lus ri*t.
That aside, it is perfectly alright for you to interpret AR like what you did. Heck, its your story! But sorry, a person like me, that really likes to read things about technology, will feel that the background of your story is a bit messed up because the whole fiasco about AR / VR. - mistareaderRoyal Road★★ 2.0I see signs of main character being a masochist while getting beat up by heroin, which is already something that I see WWAAAYYY too much of in Japanese anime and manga, so im going to stop reading this here and never even look at it again because I hate wimpy main characters, masochist main characters, and main characters that allow women to beat on him.... and so far the main character seems to be the worst combination of all of my most hated qualities.... so yeah... lucky I didn't immediately give half a star without even giving a reason at this point..
