Just writing this review because unlike the films this made me interested in Star Wars again.
This is why I'll give it a full score :)
The story isn't perfect, but I think it is compelling and very interesting. Though there are some grammatical errors and could use a great editor. It never broke the immersion for me.

You ever read Mother of Learning, and just love the concept, but never see it done properly? How about all the various star wars fics that completely waste all the potential by just re-hashing canon? Tired of the 200th story about the Sith Academy on Korriban (We've all played the goddamn game! Skip this!)
READ THIS. It's so satisfying. This story doesn't focus on action or insane harems or some gary/mary-stu saving the star wars universe. It's mostly about character growth. We watch the MC go from confused guy to wizened master (maybe he's not all the way there yet).
Even though the action isn't the focus, there's plenty of it. It's intense and lets you get a clear mental image. I would give this one a read.

After the latest trilogy of movies I must say my expectations were low. On top of that I am not really a fan of the Sith.....However this book, story, whatever its simply good. Dont get me wrong their are parts that make me groan and it is kind of rushed but if you ride it out oh my gosh its such a surprise. I really really like this story and want more chapters faster. Its so different and so so so enjoyable. My two critiques are that the first chapter needs a proof reader BADLY but after that chapter it shows a massive improvement. The second critique is that its really fast. His assention into strength is a tiny bit to fast but its the establishment of his character that is a bit to fast. His accepatence of killing or establishment of his belief in the force. Its not to bad but the author could stretch it a bit more but that would slow down the story and i really dont want that lol.
Seriously read this....i dont write many reviews on this site but the novels I do leave a review for are honestly really solid reads.
Thanks for the fun author! I can only hope for another thousand chapters!

Only time i watched starwars was as a kid. So my lore and other knowledge on star wars is a bit foggy.
So its really a nice breeze of fresh air to read about an original character.
May not be to everyones taste but i liked it.

I like the story. It's a very good concept. I love how there is plots that would make Lucasfilm jealous, not only that. I love the fact that it is its own thing.

The writing gets worse as it goes on and it's not particularly well written. It feels like a first draft of a story that hasn't been planned out.
From pacing, to plotting, to romance—it's all shoved in like the author just hopes that some part of it is going to work. The grammar and word choice is just flat out bad, things like using than in the place of then and using words entirely incorrectly.
The dialogue barely deserves to be called dialogue and the main character isn't developed well. His characterization changes seemingly dependent on the author's mood.
All around, this exists and it's not the worst thing I've ever read but it doesn't deserve its current rating or spot on trending.
Interesting story concept though. Showing parts of the Star Wars universe that don't get seen often. The novelty of seeing Sith training is probably the only reason this is popular right now. I could do without half the story being pseudo-philosophical mumbo jumbo that the author makes up though. The source material has plenty of explanations for the force, both the light and dark side, no need to make it up as you go. You could even link it real philosophical concepts if you want to be original. Otherwise, it’s just a waste of the reader’s time.

This story is kind of a let down. I liked the begining when he was training with the Sith. I thought it would lead to something, the bonds he was making with the other characters. But it seems that from volume 2 onwards (after leaving the Siths) the story is completely ruined. The characters introduced up to this point dissapear from the story, the mc stops training and simply starts fooling around doing useless things and working for a man that not only is far beneath him but also is clearly untrustworthy.
Honestly, I don't know what the author was thinking when he wrote the volume 2 but it feels like a completely different story. A very crappy one at that. And the way the mc starts treating the other characters also feels wrong. It's like he is constantly meeting new people and discarding them not long after.
As it stands, only the first volume is worth reading. Any else is a waste of time.

This seems to go downhill, fast. Nonsensical 'esoteric' stuff, characters leaving/dying left and right, a MC that goes through the notions like a robot (unless it's drama time by ruminating on a character's death)...
A decent read if you have time to waste, but otherwise? Not worth it.
