A Shattered Realm: The Last Stand of Humanity

In a story inspired by the dark world of Shin Megami Tensei:

The world is broken: shattered, burning, and decaying. The gods have fallen, their once-glorious powers scattered like ashes in the wind. The demons have risen, crawling from the cracks of a fractured Earth, leaving nothing but destruction in their wake. The sky bleeds, the ground is a graveyard of forgotten civilizations, and the remnants of humanity are but ghosts, clinging to the ruins.

Kaito awakens in the wreckage of a hospital, his head splitting with memories that feel foreign, like they belong to someone else. He remembers a sky consumed by flames, the earth shaking beneath him, and everything he knew, everything he loved, reduced to nothing. His body is different. His mind is fractured and his soul only hangs by a thread.

Demons roam the desolate streets, their twisted forms a reflection of the chaos that has consumed the world. The angels, too, have been corrupted, no longer divine, no longer pure, but cold, calculating, destructive. Neither side cares for the survival of humanity.
