A scribe´s tale.

Once upon a time humans reached the peak of technology and magic thanks to their deep connection to the ether, a source of power and knowledge of the universe. This led humans to a golden age of interstellar expansion and prosperity which lasted for several millennia.

This era was brought to a sudden fall into the dark ages caused by the warp, a "disease" of sorts that traveled through ether. This disease killed almost any humans with a strong connection to ether and crippled the growth of any future generations of human magicians and researchers. Without access to ether interstellar travel and communications became unavailable, causing all worlds inhabited by humans to eventually die out in the darkness. In this period an ancient race of extraterrestrial beings appeared and self-proclaimed themselves as gods and saviors, offered humanity a shimmer of light if there was subservience. They isolated humans to their world of origin and allowed them to exist in a way not to different as cattle does. Only noble houses, those who showed subordination from the start where given rights and allowed some freedom.

Alfonse, son of a vassal scribe from a noble house leads a "normal life" under his duties until a stroke of luck and a fate he’s unaware of, brings him to realize the truth about the gods and the warp. Having now a choice he never imagined having he must look for what’s the best path for him to follow, but in the meantime, he must live a dangerous life of hiding secrets and escaping the authorities’ eyes.

Will this child allow his own kind to be kept enslaved or will he take matters into his hands, and if he does what consequences will it bring?

Author notes: well guys this here is my first shot at writing a web novel, been wanting to do this for a long time now so i hope that you can enjoy it and leave a review of what i did both right and wrong so i can see what i lack as an author.
