A Rose of Hellfire

Description
In the blackest stone, a flaming rose may bloom.
Twenty-five years ago, Anarra Deimos was left on the doorstep of the Monastery of the Sacred Eye; in her eyes, the spark of magic flamed brightly. Shamed and punished by the clergy whenever her blood-born abilities would manifest, the young girl grew bitter and resentful. Mage academies and sorcerous masters sought her release: "teach the girl, let us show her control, and a better path" they said, to deaf ears. Alone and with no other recourse, she planned to take her freedom by any means necessary. To that end, she waited patiently, obeying the clergy while gathering secret courage and fostering her inborn abilities. And then that day finally came.
Now, the monastery is a burnt ruin. None can say whether or not Anarra was born wicked and cruel, but that is the woman she is now: seeking power, wealth, and dominance through whatever means she can muster, bent on subjugating as many as she can under the heel of her boots and the lash of her whip.
What To Expect
I've always loved picking the evil option in video games. I've long since wanted to write a story featuring a bad-to-the-bone villainess, a femme fatale; sexy, cruel, power-hungry, with plenty of attitude. That's this story. I have high standards for myself, so I waited until I felt I was a talented enough writer to make it a reality.
What you'll see: gritty adventuring, politics, betrayal, rich worldbuilding and lore, mysteries, suspense, seduction, and carnage. Expect a dark revenge story of one woman's rise to power.
Update Schedule
For now, I am aiming for 3-5 chapters a week as I "feel out" a good update schedule.

- Oberon FalkRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story has female main character Anarra, who has experienced an abusive, isolated childhood in the monastery. Her magical talent is feared for a reason: one day she gets herself free from the monastery, where she has been prisoned, by practically burning down the whole place with her magic.
After that, Anarra is not willing to take shit from anybody. In that sense, this is a revenge story, and she has decided to take revenge on the whole world: they must submit under her power or suffer. And because there is also a sexual aspect to her power-plays, there seems to be abundance of men and women who are eager to submit themselves under her will.
Although this is entertaining, this might also be the weakness of the story: based on the first eight chapters I have read so far, Anarra’s world conquest seems to be progressing even too easily. She doesn’t seem to have any regrets or inner conflicts, nor does she seem to care about anything or anyone but gaining more power. So, are the stakes high enough for maintaining the suspense throughout the story? That remains to be seen, but there are already some hints that promise some hardships for Anarra. For example, her (only?) weakness seems to be the lack of knowledge about the world she is living in due the secluded years in the monastery, and this might make her vulnerable for exploitation. Who knows what kind of dark moments Anarra will experience, as the story unfolds?
However, too easy or not, Anarra’s power-play is fun to follow. The plot of the story progresses effortlessly, and the characters who fall for her are well build. The writing style is nothing too fancy or complex – instead, we are served straightforward, easy-to read, light-hearted, spicy prose without any serious grammar or spelling issues.
If you are looking for a strong female main character with a badass attitude, and a well-written fantasy story that doesn’t take itself too seriously, you should give this one a try.
