A Red Flame in the Dark: A Prequel to Scarlet Letter

Boston, Massachusetts Bay Colony, 1640

A young Puritan woman named Hester Prynne learns her husband is missing, presumed dead. She is secretly glad to be able to maintain her independence until she seeks comfort from a new minister, Reverend Mr. Dimmesdale.

Despite each knowing that their strict religion bans any relationship between them, the pair cannot help but develop a deep bond, and each face a different consequence for it, namely a Scarlet Letter.
