A Paladin's Final Mission

Samael Gavril, currently a 3rd in command of the Kingdom Zarith, is ruled by fair and proud Queen Thundra. He is in charge of protecting the Capital above all else and training the new Paladins. He has spent decades honing the art of battle, swordplay and of magic, wordplay, and strategy. He is the most dependable, and the most powerful individual the Queen has. And so, when a great evil begins to rise in a new mine system, he is called upon to travel there and end it. Like all missions, he plans on doing it to the absolute best of his ability. Everyone knows this and expects this. What they do not know, however, is that he is going to make this hisfinalmission, whatever the cost.

This story is an expansion of the backstory for a D&D 5e character I made, I hope you enjoy my return to writing!

To explain the content warnings:

Profanity: - I do not know what this site considers "excessive", and so since the characters may on occasion use foul language, I selected it.

Sexual Content - I am still debating if this will even come up, but have it selected just in case, so that any potential readers are not taken by surprise if I do decide to write it in.

Gore - There will be fights, and these fights may range from scuffles to straight-up slaughter. When the gore is heavier, I will put a comment in the pre-chapter note

Traumatising Content - Heavier topics like SA, SH, Genocide, etc are on occasion discussed. I willnotexplicitly describe anything of this nature, however.
