A Pacifistic Sword Saint
Community Rating
Description
Maude Holloway is the Ainsworth Empire's only sword saint, a blessing that she can't help but see as a curse. For nearly a decade, her father has required her to train her skills, day in and day out, so that should the empire ever need her skills, she will be prepared. The day of the empire's need has finally come, and the young woman who wants nothing to do with war, violence, or fighting has been called to lead an army of her own. When she crosses paths with an enemy duke, she expects her life to end. Much to her surprise, he takes her back to his manor, where she unravels the secrets of the empire from which she hails, and finds love in unexpected places.

- Doglia5Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story has good grammar, decent structure, and a goal in mind. The family life scenes could definitely been done better but are not bad. My biggest complaints are the main character gets knocked out several times by a blow to the back of the head which would almost certainly result in brain damage and there a few sections where something similar to this happens "Oh why do I have these flats they're so useless for climbing" and then "oh what I wouldn't give for a good pair of shoes." this is during a chase and feels like it breaks the flow of the scene. Decent overall for a quick read.
