A modern girl in a medieval cultivation world {Isekai, Xianxia, Cultivation, Fake Noble, Business/Empire building}

Description
Sabina had led a fulfilling life. At the ripe old age of 104 her biggest gripe was that her days were boring and her body was failing her. It was a good thing her life was ending, after her life, helping manufacture weapons during the war, running her own successful chain of bakeries and clothing stores and teaching snotty nosed teenagers while dealing with teen drama, it was the boredom doing her in!
So imagine her surprise, when she gets transmigrated to a Xianxia cultivation world, into a body of a 13 year old commoner Sa Bina. How exciting. The only issue is that no one believes she is a commoner due to how she speaks and acts, and she end up enrolled in a school for nobles. All she wants to do is have fun in her new life, but people keep expecting her to "grow up" and take "responsibility" how bothersome!

- cryfnRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like the story. The world building throughout the story is nicely done. Not too much detail at a point in the story so it gradually comes together. The practical's of life are addressed (housing, income, occupation, social situation) are being addressed in a logical manner. I also like the mysteries that are building in the back round (the dreams? the goddess checking up on her?). I am also looking forward to how the other nobles will react to her. That should be fun.
- WyrddsmithRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm really enjoying this read. The main character is intelligent, and the world is different and interesting. I particularly like the way the mc is an old woman in a young body, and this along with her inexperience with this new world leads her to making mistakes that drive the plot.
- Buddah222Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0An absolutely bloody brilliant story filled with quick wet a slight turn of phrase and a slap in the face with Brilliant humour . The character development and world building is phenomenal and really dragged you into the journey through the world. From the first chapter. It has been an epic ride full of adventure, humour And unexpected puns occasionally can wholeheartedly recommend This story is as well worth the time to sit down and have an enjoyable read of it. Have no reservations about giving it two thumbs up and five stars.
- FK28Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Lovely book! Always love a good "modern technology in ancient world" trope. The reincarnation was logical and makes all her advanced knowledge realistic. I also like that the cultivation isn't the female leads primary strength.
But why are you in hiatus? Hope your mum is doing well... but seriously get out of hiatus already... I need my fix! - IvolucienRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am reluctant to give 5 stars in any of these categories. Yet here we are. I just binged through the story and was sad to see the binge end with today's posted chapter.
The MC is OP in the super competent, smarty-pants category. Yet very human mistakes are made, realized too late, with daunting consequences. And there are at least 6, no 9 substantially divergent POVs, with layers of careful revelation of partial truths, misunderstanding and a wide cast of diverse motivations at play.
Even if it's a familiar genre, the detail, depth of historical context and characters thinking on their feet come together into a very satisfying experience.
I love that the MC kneads to experiment to get baking viable with unfamiliar ingredients, knowing aspects of modern tech without unrealistic depth, and that elders feel like elders, teens seem like teens, and so on. And the council meeting day was a fabulously well orchestrated cart wreck.
I have minor quibbles about some of the specific story choices, like the absence of frequent inquiry about her parents, and the frequent willingness to trust a 13yo when life changing choices are made. I respect that both of those have been touched on, they are just sus to my "do these characters feel real" intuition.
On the other hand, the noble - commoner power differential takes up some of that slack, and harping on either topic would be not-so-fun.
I'm off to check their patreon page now. 👋 - NinjaWifeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have not finished the available chapters yet, there has been a lot of effort so far at the beginning to set up for great things later on in the books. While I believe that it is a bit overwhelming all the details she has chucked at us, I have faith it will come to fruition.
- RobinyodaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is interesting for me and I enjoy reading about the new life of a mature woman. Sabina is a full character with interesting ideas that show the intersection of society, culture, and food. The cultivation system is more of a world building detail that I am interested in seeing explored.
- SchusfusterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an Isekai story of an established older adult who lived a full life on earth, and who is basically getting a bonus round in a Cultivation world.
I really like how cognizant the story is of its cultural boundaries and context, both in how Cultivators and Beast Tides are active and important shapings of economy and development. It's also pleasing that the story explores political ends in a world where competent particpants adapt well to the Transmigrator's ideas and concepts. I have high hopes. - Clawdius_TaloniousRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The protagonist is a bit of a Mary Sue so far, but one presumes adversity awaits down the line. It's delightfully absurd, utilizing the sort of refuge in audacity one rarely sees.
Compared to something like Metaworld Chronicles, it focuses a lot more on the minutia of baking than Gwen ever did on e.g. the specifics of her business interests. That's okay though, everyone likes bread, and few people are interested in harbor accounting practices or even real estate development.
While it remains to be seen whether they're sitting back observing and laughing, or just ignorant of how much change an individual could accomplish without cultivation, the premise of a girl with a fortune (and enough backing to keep it) and otherworldly knowledge has promise that I hope this story can continue to live up to. - Catz SRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I'm enjoying reading this imagining my great grandmother as the main character. 😄 It is well thought out with good background info to help fill in the gaps. Also it has the crafting aspect used in a unique way to intice my further reading. A sassy main character is always appreciated.
