If you are ready to step outside the norm of the usual web novel and experience something you might find in a college-level English class then this book is for you.
Characters- I really don’t know. I am having such a hard time connecting to the main character: Thor. Here we have a 13-year-old boy being written as if he was a man. Take the first two scenes with the boy: where he got the snake and the spider and the teacher. They were described and overdone with descriptions using words that made my brain hurt for a second. Basically using a sledgehammer to put in a nail. I think I would relate more to a 13-year-old boy if the language connected me to that boy.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved when the teacher tried to see why Thor liked the spider, but something felt hollow to me.
Grammar - English is a force beyond comprehension. All the wording in this story goes beyond a basic conversation. I didn’t see any grammar errors or misspellings.
Style: This is not a story I would read for fun because it really uses language. There isn’t anything wrong with it, it just isn’t my personal style. Besides the language/word choice, I will say the world-building is epic level.
Worldbuilding: If I could make a rating for this book I would add this. The author does an outstanding job creating their own world. It is very intriguing. Back to the teacher in the first chapter. There were so many layers to what she was doing! I really liked that part.
Overall, I would give this story 5 out of 5 because of the style. I find it hard to get into. That said, the grammar is good, minus the word choice. Character for me is hard to relate to, but still developed well and we see all sorts of interactions with him. The story is solid enough. It reminds me of 1984. Basically, if you are looking for something different than the normal stuff on Royal Road, you found it and it is done well.

Read till Chapter 15 (Even though it is not showing -.-)
It is a super fun novel! To be honest, the writing style is a bit... "much" but after some chapters, it grows on you. It might be that it is very academically written and what I usually read here is more of an amateurish style, so the grammar and style are top-notch.
About the story, well, you need to encase yourself fully. Because the writing style is like it is, it is very hard to get into the younger characters. However! If you get over yourself, it is super fun!
I like to take the novels/stories for what they are and not what the norm is, and this is absolutely not normal. For this, you need to bring an open mind with you and just read and take it for what it is.
    Hint: It's good!
Now the story. It's fantastic. Just read it and you can by the way see all the influences of classics in there ;)
However, there is one thing one must really be sure of if you start reading it: It is not light-hearted, no real comedy and everything is a bit dramatic. Well, you would say: "Read the tags, idiot!"
Yes, you were right but there was in every dystopian novel always some light heartiness, comedy, satire, etc. but here is very missing or I missed it. So, if you read it, get ready for something very different :)

This narrative is an diamond amongst the coal of Royal Road. Lovers of classic literature--and I do mean 'literature' as opposed to more modern 'fiction'--will find a hearty read that reminds us of the humble nobility in the smallest acts of kindness. If you grew up reading C.S. Lewis or J.R.R. Tolkien, this modern work will feel like a blast from the past in all the right ways.
With only 6 chapters at the time of writing, Thor & Hisstory reads like a ballad of alliteration, poetic verse, and the opening acts of a biblical saga. The characters have depth, the setting is richly immersive, and the opening beats of the plot make me wonder how such amazing full-sized chapters can feel so short. I really can't praise this enough, and with the wonderfully executed foreshadowing in these early chapters it's clear readers should expect great things from this fiction.

While some may be put off by the articulate vernacular or classical tone of literary fiction in favor of more minimalist alternatives, if you enjoy a heart-twisting dystopian ride then this is a place you'll encounter it, complete with both sci fi and mythos elements of mystery quality & mesmerizing sensory perception, this is the bell call to sit down and feast the mind. You can easiLove the slow burn character develoPonderments as they flicker to illumination. The ESP involved arrives as astounding shocker, since in one area you might expect it, there is far more talent dancing around the community hive than at first may meet the eye. Classical romanticism values are incorporated also, and it seems there is an attachment in some sort of area to be had for anyone who won't get too awfully flummoxed beneath profuse intellectual divExplorations of unorthodox phrases that provide relatable notions new slant and significance than is commonly reflected.
But don't let the ears of the state overhear you enjoying yourself brimming over, as they aren't fond of dynamic Delectables, they prefer the bland processes of spoonfed conformity...
(Am I seriously not at 200 words by now? Would really enjoy being able to post this some time today, robo Gatekeeper!)

Its an interesting, fun, and solid read. I enjoyed the illiteration and development. I can see some mystery and a plot starting to develop. The writing style is interesting, and a bit different from your run of the mill "average" style.
If the writer can keep up this pace and level of excellence, I would keep a close eye on this one.
A small critique, balance your chapter lengths. They are a bit all over the place.

As the author has indicated in the summary, this fiction is set in a 1984 like universe with some kind of tyrannical regime with a hero who has a snake for a pet. We don't get to see this antogonistic regime directly, only getting hints through character interactions, plot, and worldbuilding. What we do is follow the MC Thor and his Snake Hisstory and explore the world with him.
Style - This is not a typical RR story, and the writing style is unique and unconventional at least for this website. It takes a while to get into it, and it's certainly not for everyone. But if you do get into it, you will enjoy each and every subsequent chapter more and more. Unfortunately, the way the story is written, the author seems to have strongly decided against handhold the reader at any point, and the narrative can be a bit hard to follow at times. Fortunately, even if you miss some thing in a chapter, it usually becomes more clear in future chapters. In summary, the author has a very unique style of writing and narration, and if you develop a taste for it, it's certainly a treat to read!
Story - The plot is intriguing, and the pacing oscillates between fast and slow over various events. The main character Thor is present in a world which we know little about, except for what the Thor himself observes either directly or via conversations with others. Much of the world and its events become clear as Thor himself learns new things, both within himself and outside. As of now, the main plot involving the antogonist government has only remotely started to develop.
Grammar - Not much to say, I couldn't find any noticeable flaws. The author does exercise the poetic licence to take a few liberties once in a while, to fit his alliterative style of prose, but it is not noticeable most of the time.
Character - The main character is the one who's most developed, though the supporting cast both at the orphanage and the museum have distinct and separable personalites too. In particular, without

So far I like this, I had read too much popcorn fictions lately (not on here mind you!) so it was hard to get into this richer prose style at first. (Hey, I like a candy book now and then, ha!)
Thor is a thoughfull character for one so young. Give this book a chance the dear writer has set up an immersive world filed with mysteries, (so far subtle magics) and has a few surprises up their sleeves. Hisssty is awaking, can you seee it?
The prose has a lovely fluidity about it that wraps it's imagery around your inner mind that kicks off with a delightful bounce now and then, grabbing your attention.
What I really want to comment on, I can't as I don't want to give away anything. I believe this is done in a more omini pov (Opov) style, and nicely so in that H. Haven doesn't head hop, so it's a smooth read.
It's not fair to write a review in my opinion until you've at least tried to get to 10 + chapters, so I'll be back later.
    I need more words so...
Hissstory is in the title so must have much to do with the story and plot, another good reason to keep reading to find out what will happen. I like title namer chapters, they're satisfying. If we're given one that'd be nice.

I struggled with this, to be honest. I've only gotten to chapter 5, and honestly characterization and story are still somewhat light on the ground. It's hard to judge a story on those grounds this early - exposition can be difficult, especially with rich worldbuilding.
The characters are maybe a bit wooden, but honestly that may be for styalistic causes more than anything else.
And that's ultimately my only real problem here - the text is full of five-dollar words and alliteration. Like this sentence from the third chapter: " Trepidation tore through the thicket of Thor, a haven he’d hermetically sealed ..." I get to sentences like that and pop right out of my reading.
Oddly enough, I can't help but think that more florid sentence structures would improve things. The word choice clashed with an otherwise direct prose style, and I struggled to get any sort of immersion into the story. There isn't anything objectively wrong and my problems are probably just my problems.
On the other hand, the world building so far is very intriguing. This could absolutely turn into a page-turner, especially if the story can balance Thor's agency with the surreality of the plot.
For now, I'm going to keep following along. Once the story really gets going, and once I get used to the style more, I'll probably be able to re-write a more thorough review.
