A meteor shower brings superpowers

Description
A meteor shower brought Earth superpowers. One in a thousand people gained tier-one powers, which meant powers made you as powerful as a person with a gun. One in the ten thousand people became tier two, which meant you needed 5 swat police armed with submachine guns to deal with that person. One in a hundred thousand became tier three, which made you as strong as a main battle tank. One in a million became tier four and became as strong as an infantry battalion. Earth governments fear the possible appearance of a tier-five superhuman, a person so strong the only option of dealing with him is a nuke.
Mehmet is a tall, strong, but unattractive teenager seventeen years old. He is a social outcast with few friends. His best friend is someone who befriended him for protection against bullies. He is also a nerd, a bully-beating nerd but a nerd nonetheless. After the meteor shower, he becomes obsessed with finding a way to gain superpowers.
Will he going to be superpowered? How he will achieve it, and what adventures await him in his quest of progressing power.

- s-TarviorRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The premise is executed in a straightforward manner. The question what motivates rather ordinary people to go to rather extreme measures is left open, though. The story would benefit from more explanation of the characters' motives and the process that leads them to their decisions. Also the reactions of the common people is oddly uniform. If such a monumental change were to happen, one would expect riots, demonstrations and even religious upheaval and people remaining in denial.
